Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Join Dora and Boots on a super-special Easter egg hunt! In this colorful picture book, Dora's mami and papi have hidden 12 eggs (with prizes inside) for them to find. The two pals go exploring and find eggs on Duck Pond's lily pads, a sleepy sloth's tummy, under animals at the farm, and lots of other places. But they're also busy keeping away Swiper! Readers are challenged to match the prizes with their eggs, along with pronouncing Spanish words in a front-of-the-book glossary. Without a doubt, Dora makes Easter truly excelente.
Children's Literature
Dora and her monkey friend, Boots, are looking for 12 special eggs on an Easter egg hunt. She asks young readers to help them locate the eggs, which have prizes inside of them. "Map" instructs the explorers to hunt for the eggs by the duck pond, the farm and at Grandma's house. On each page- spread there are questions directed to children. These include simple counting exercises, matching games, and other developmentally appropriate activities. There are also a few Spanish words sprinkled in the text, most notably the numbers 1 through 12. Dora is cute as a button and many children will recognize her from her Nick Jr. television series. The text does not flow as smoothly as it should, but the colorful illustrations and character identification will please young Dora fans. This title is one in the publisher's "Dora the Explorer" series. 2003, Simon Spotlight/Simon & Schuster, Pettenati
