Library Journal - Library Journal
This is the Europe volume of a series destined to cover the globe. Each country is represented by the same table listing social behaviors, with a checkmark for whether each behavior is acceptable (a woman's covering her head in Croatia), frowned upon (tapping one's feet in public in Spain), or illegal (smoking in Belgium). Also included is information on customary tips and gift giving and emergency numbers. The user would have benefited from country-name margin guides and fewer "n/a" responses where there ought to be information, while business travelers may prefer similar titles specifically geared to their needs. Other regions to be covered in the series include South America, Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Canada and Australia, Oceania, the Middle East, and the United States.
