    Leafstars Struggle chap. 5-6

Chapter 5-Leaftail woke a little before sunhigh. Getting up she streched feeling her muscles moving beneath her fur. Happily she padded out to the clearing. Redfoot the deputy was giving orders to patrols. When he saw Leaftail he flicked his tail at her. She bounded over. "Your father wanted to see you. Hes in his den." He informed her. "Thanks Redfoot!" Leaftail meowed. She padded towards the leader den. It was a bramble bush next to HighLog. "Sunstar?" She called when she was outside the entrence. "Come in." He answered. Leaftail ducked inside. It was darker inside but she could still make out her fathers shape. She was grooming a paw in his nest. "Redfoot said you wanted to see me." She began tentivly unsure of how to begin. "Yes. I did." He set his paw down and looked at her. Leaftail looked away her gaze flicking over to the walls of the den. "Its about your leadership." At that Leaftail forced herself to look back at him. "Yes?" She asked. "I only have one life left. And we are going to be battling StreamClan. They have been stealing prey." He explained. Leaftail felt her eyes widen. Her father had only one life left. And if they were going into battle...."so you might have to take over the Clan sooner thwn normal." He father finished her thought. Chapter 6-"But......you had three just last leaf-bare." Leaftail exclaimed startled. "I lost one to green-cough and another in the battle against BreezeClan." Sunstar explained. Leaftail shook her head. "Father im not ready. I just became a warrior! I havent even led a patrol yet!!" Sunstar nodded. "I am well aware. You are leading the evening border patrol. And Froststeps kits are almost six moons old. I am giving you one of them as an apprentice." Leaftail layed down. Sunstars gaze softened. "Leaftail i am aware that this is a lot for you to take in. But i need you to be prepared." He meowed stroking her shoulder with her tail. Leaftail sighed. "Okay. I understand." She meowed. Then shaking her fathers tail off she exited the den. She padded over to the fresh-kill pile and pulled a small vole out of it. Nimbly she nibbled it thinking about her planned future.
