The whole Dragon Slayers Academy series is wonderful. My 8 year old son loves them, he will read for hours and laugh out loud. These are probably the best books we have found for young boys - some excitement and heros, some comedy, reading level and content appropriate for age. He has read the whole series now, and his sister (who is a couple of years older) borrows and reads them too. Although her reading level is much higher, she still enjoys them.
