    possibly better than the first!

I simply loved Enchanting the Lady. Kathryne Kennedy's first book really delivered on all levels. When that happens you often find the second book in a series a let down. An author pours their heart into that first book, so sometimes book number two is weaker or a carbon copy. Thus, I was holding my breath as I read Double Enchantment, the second in the Relics of Merlin series by Kennedy. I am thrilled to say there was no let down, no disappointment. Lady Jasmina has a very perplexing problem. All of London are a twitter about the female who is sporting around town, making a cake of herself, and that gossip encompasses Lady Jasmina because the woman looks exactly like her. Worse, there is a sexy baronet who is acting like he knows Jasmina, and when I say 'know' I mean it! Some believe that it's not a look alike creating the trouble, but Jamina herself, thus in order to save her reputation, Jamina sets about to run to ground this woman. In the foggy streets of Londontown, magic is afoot. A spell gone wrong, a mysterious organization called The Brotherhood, and a hero to die for, Kennedy gives you all the right ingredients. The magic is Kennedy's writing. She's set up a strong series with an involving mythos that...well, enchants the reader from start to finish. Kennedy is quickly proving she is an author on the rise. I highly recommend both books in the Relics of Merlin and eagerly look forward to the next in the series.

    LOVED IT!!!

I got this ebook as a free download on another book site and I'm very glad that I did. This is a very enchanting story in a fasinating world! If you've ever read one of Mercedes Lackey's Five Hundred Kingdoms book then you would probably like this. The only exception is that this book had a lot more sizzle (which I loved)! I can't wait to read other books by this author. And gues what! The first book in this series is a free download from B&N. I can't wait to start reading this new book! I'll let you know what I think when I'm done!

A fun treat for fans of romance and fantasy

I love fantasy novels, and really enjoy reading historic romance, this novel has both. For me, this was fast paced, witty, and completely enjoyable. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

    I Also Recommend:

    Missing the Mark

Kathryne Kennedy's Magical England is a good idea (One that has been done before, but still a good idea). The plot itself is even good, but what had it missing the mark is that I felt that Kennedy expected us to read her mind. Things were only half explained and jumbled here and there. I was frustrated half the time and delighted the other half. I know that the fear in writing is that there will be to much description and not enough action but when you are introducing a new world like this, a little set up is necessary for the reader. I still found myself rooting for Jasmina and Sir Sterling however much I got frustrated; so I must give her high marks on creating leading characters to cheer for. Also, I still have high hopes for this author and am trying another of her books. We'll see.

    Kathryne Kennedy's Done It Again

I loved her first book in this series, so needless to say I had to pick up her next one. I couldn't put it down. It held me captivated all the way through it. Lady Jasmina is a character everyone loves and the handsome hero is enough to make any woman swoon. With a mysterious group running around called the Brotherhood and Jasmina's double amidst all the action, how can you not read this from start to finish in one sitting?

    a fabulous romantic Victorian fantasy

In 1848 Lady Jasmina Karlyle is frantic when she realizes her mom is a thief. To protect her mother, she vows to return the stolen item to its rightful owner. To do so without repercussions, she casts a spell creating a shadowy double of her self with plans to eliminate her other half once the mission is achieved.---------------- To her dismay, Jasmina learns too late that the artifact her mom stole is the Relic of Merlin, which she learns means her ¿twin¿ lives. At a London ball, were-stallion Sir Sterling Thorn and Jaz meet and are attracted to one another. Although she is a distracter from his mission of finding his missing sister, they share an incredible sexual encounter. Soon afterward they marry. However, when his spouse vanishes, he learns the truth that he wed the doppelganger of Jasmina. With the prince urging them to find the Relic of Merlin, they agree to team up to do his royal bidding and find his vanished sibling and his missing spouse, her shadow twin.------------------------ The second Relics of Merlin alternate history saga (see ENCHANTING THE LADY) is a fabulous romantic Victorian fantasy with a clever twist in which the love triangle is complicated by his falling in love with the shadow twin and then the original twin. The story line is fast-paced from the moment Jasmina casts her spell and never slows down as she and Sterling seek her doppelganger, his sister, the relic and lucidity to their convoluted DOUBLE ENCHANTMENT relationship.--------------- Harriet Klausner
