A couple of the stories here are simply creepy and sinister tales, which disappointed me, as I had wanted all detective stories. The other stories do feature Poirot or Miss Marple, but the mysteries vary in quality. It's an okay read, but forgettable. This collection is notable for containing the story "The Double Clue," the first story in which Poirot meets his love interest, the Countess Vera Rossakoff. She also appears in the book "The Big Four" and in "The Labours of Hercules."
