Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Vicki Foote
Sam Dibble doodles and tells his story about running for president of his third grade class. One of the "Doodles of Sam Dibble" series, this chapter book contains comic book illustrations throughout the narrative as Sam describes his adventures. Other characters in his class include Max, who is called Wax because he can pick the most wax out of his ears, and Cookie, who farts, so no one gets too close to him. When Sam decides to run for class president, he must decide what he will do as president and one of his ideas is to promise the class that they would have quilted toilet paper in the bathroom. Amidst all this, Sam volunteers to take care of the class pet, a hamster named Fluffernutter, overnight at his home. A series of events lead to his losing the pet, buying another one to cover up the loss, and then telling the truth. Things work out well for Sam even though he does not win the election. The chatty story and fun doodles will appeal to readers who like this type of humor. Reviewer: Vicki Foote
