Thomas Elsaesser is professor emeritus of film and television studies in the Department of Art and Culture at the University of Amsterdam.

Jan Simons is associate professor of new media in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam and the head of the Creative Industries Research Center Amsterdam.
