Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Rachel Miller
Sara and Max plan to have fun on Sara's farm. They play on the farm frequently. One day, Sara sees one bird and then another. She informs Max that that is a double. They continue on the double journey throughout the farm. Each time they do an activity they find another double. The author teaches the addition of doubles in order starting with one all the way up to nine. The author makes it very clear what exactly makes a double. She explains the double and also shows it in addition to sentence form. The pictures represent the double very well and help to clarify the definition of a double. This would be an excellent addition to any math curriculum involving beginning addition as well as a review of addition in doubles form. The glossary at the back is very clear, concise, and easy to read. It is a wonderful addition to the book. This is part of the "Math in Our World" series. Reviewer: Rachel Miller
