    Highly Recommended

One of the best books on small flash photography, Doug Box does a great job detailing off camera flash and dealing with various situational challenges. This is a great book for a beginner or experienced shooter looking for a few good tips. Emailed Doug with a question and got a response back in a very short time, now that's a great author!

Highly Recommended For Photographers Of All Skill Levels

Doug Box has hit a "HomeRun" with his flash photography book. Doug explains the many nuances of flash photography & clearly illustates these concepts with photographs. He has taken what is sometimes a difficult process for photgraphers & made it simle to understand. The equipment recommendations in this book regarding cameras, flashes, tripods, softboxes, radio slaves, etc., is most helpful. This is one of the best flash photography books that I have seen.

    more from this reviewer

    great advice given

Dog Box is a craftsman who gives you a book that is attractive and inviting yet he still knows how to get to the point. This is a great overview of off-camera flash use along with how to use modifiers, different triggers, etc. I was especially happy to see the inclusion of how to use a flash meter. This would be a great intro for the flash photo newbie, giving you multiple scenarios for lighting portraits.
