In addition to six unedited alternate takes providing a fly-on-the-wall opportunity to eavesdrop as the musicians and the recording engineer set up the tunes and discuss how the music works, the producers have added a lovely rendition of "These Foolish Things" recorded live on November 21, 1959, when Sims and McKenna were joined by bassist Bill Crow and drummer Ed Shaughnessy. Anyone who really loves the Lester Young-inspired sounds of Zoot Sims should have this edition of Down Home.
