Overview

"Down the Rabbit Hole," the third installment in the fabulously facile Alex in Wonderland series, sets New Orleans favorite gay son, Alex Sumner, and his friends on a collision course with more lunacy, duplicity and of course laughs. Two years after Hurricane Katrina, the city is getting back on shaky feet, no thanks to an influx of gutter punks, mugger clowns and a murderous vampire cult that turns out to be the real deal. Alex and his friends take it all in stride, but not before mud is flung, shocking revelations are made and good-byes are said to one of the group's most beloved characters. Fasten your seatbelts for another zany trip Down the Rabbit Hole!

"The third volume in Michel LaCroix's "Wonderland series" takes place two years after Hurricane Katrina as New Orleans continues to rebuild. I'm not telling what happens to Alex and his friends this time, but there are lots of secrets and revelations and I will say gay men are not the only ones who come out of the closet! The wonderful prose and characterizations make this a most enjoyable collection of books."Amos Lassen Reviews

Meet the Author

Michel LaCroix's first novel, Alex in Wonderland, was published in 2006 by Haworth Press. Set in New Orleans, it was inspired by Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City and those wacky screwball comedies from the '30s. It follows the adventures of Alex Sumner, an uptown, uptight rich kid searching for identity in the freewheeling downtown French Quarter. Along the way, Alex encounters a host of zany characters and embarks on a journey LaCroix calls "fabulously facile."

Alex in Wonderland was an official 2006 selection of the Insight Out Book Club and was nominated for a Violet Quill Award. Happily, the book was such a hit that a sequel followed in 2007, Through with the Looking Glass, which dealt with Hurricane Katrina. These two books morphed the Wonderland series which continues with the publication of Down the Rabbit Hole.

Michel lives in California Wine Country.
