Overview

FBI Agent Morgan Nash is on assignment in London when his case goes awry and he finds himself moments away from a bullet through the heart. But fate has other plans: Morgan gets knocked out pursuing a suspect... and wakes up in 1888.

While cataloging ancient manuscripts at the British Museum, Ezra Glacenbie accidentally pulls Morgan out of the twenty-first century-an impromptu vacation that may become permanent for Morgan if they can't locate the spellbook Ezra used. Further hampering Morgan's quest to get home is the irresistible temptation to investigate history's most notorious serial killer: Jack the Ripper. But in repressive Victorian London, it's the unexpected romance blossoming between Morgan and Ezra that becomes the most dangerous complication of all.

Great book about FBI agent Morgan Nash who gets pulled back in time to London in the Victorian age. The three men responsible for accidentally "summoning" him take Morgan home to where they board. At first Morgan finds it difficult to adapt and is determined to return home. While searching for the book which will provide the means to return home, Morgan finds himself attracted to Ezra, one of men responsible for summoning him. Ezra is engaged to be married, but when Morgan finds out the engagement is due to overwhelming pressure and manipulation by Ezra's overbearing father he helps Ezra by supporting him and encouraging him to follow his heart. Even as Morgan delves into the intriguing case of Jack the Ripper, he and Ezra begin a romance that is destined to only last a short time, until Morgan can return to the future. Morgan and Ezra's relationship was portrayed in the story as sweet, honest, giving and supportive. I liked how everyone boarding in the house was like a family. The main characters were written as unique and likeable individuals. I though the story ended perfectly and look forwarding to reading more from this author.

Amazing book! I really like how this is set in the victorian era, being about gays. There's hardly any books like this.

This wasn't exactly what I was expecting but it was even better.  Morgan is everything most of us expect out of a modern day FBI agent when reading such stories and he is thrown for a real doozy when he thinks he's knocked out or even shot but wakes up in the same place but a very different time.  In 1888 to be precise.  The men who brought him to 1888 may not have meant and don't really know what to make of Morgan at first but I feel it's exactly what all involved needed.  This is a story that was even better than I expected and one I hated see come to an end.  The characters are well written, the plot well developed, and one I enjoyed immensely from beginning to end.

If you love well-researched, well-executed historic novels, Tamara Allen is fantastic. If you love well-written m/m romances with believable, relatable, lovable characters, Tamara Allen is fantastic. If you love romance mixed with adventure with a hint of the occult and a little sex (but without being porn-heavy), you will probably really enjoy this book.

I dont usually post reviews but I had to on this one. Very well written light m/m romance. Loved the characters. If I didnt have to work I wouldnt have stopped reading until the end. I hate books that are great but have sad endings so this was a nail-biter at the end. Most free books are less than 150 pgs but this one is 870+.

Everything I have read by here is excellent! I will definitely be investing time and money into all her wonderfully spun stories. Worth every second. I can't get over how real her characters are, they have so much depth you would think she was writing about real people she has known her whole life.

More about finding true love than m/m sex Has humor, mystery, adventure and a hunt for Jack the Ripper - yet history remains intact

Wonderful read! I didn't care for the opening pages, but they do set the scene. It's possible to skim them and get to the goods. The characters are very real and likeable--no black and white cut-outs. Everyone has depth of character and an interesting backstory. Romance was handled very sensitively, with adequate time for the characters to know one another. I absolutely ADORED the inclusion of Jack the Ripper. The author picked an excellent time period and set the scene well. Very enjoyable. I'll probably read this again in a few months.
