Dr. Demento: The Very Best of Dr. Demento

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Ayelet Prizant
In 1999, Dr. Demento celebrated the 30-year anniversary of his hilarious syndicated radio program with the two-disc Dementia 2000 collection, culling some of the most popular wacky classics heard on the show. Now, Rhino goes one step further with The Very Best of Dr. Demento, which narrows the selection down to 17, including such Demented favorites as "Fish Heads," "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park," "Shaving Cream," "They're Coming to Take Me Away Ha-Haaa!" and "Dead Puppies," plus liner notes by the doctor himself and an introduction by Demento discovery "Weird Al" Yankovic.

Rhino's stream of Dr. Demento compilations continues with The Very Best of Dr. Demento, which basically hauls out the Demento standards -- Barnes & Barnes' "Fish Heads," Allan Sherman's "Hello Mudduh, Hello Fadduh! (A Letter From Camp)," Napoleon XIV's "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!," and the Firm's "Star Trekkin'" chief among them -- one more time.
