I highly recommend this book. It is very educational and easy to read.

When it was discovered my husband had prostate cancer, a good friend of ours said you need to read this book. It helped us tremendously, after reading this book we felt educated enough to make the right and needed decisions we were faced with.

This book was extremely helpful and the best book I read on the subject.

The book went through the process of each type of treatment for Prostrate Cancer. It was written in a clear and concise language that anyone could understand. It never pointed you in any one direction or treatment to choose. It just put everything out there for you to absorb.

It told you what to expect before, during, and after the surgery. Not only does it help the patient, there is a section for the wives and caregivers also.

I highly recommend this book for anyone facing this situation. As a matter of fact, I have recommended it to the Oncology nurse at out local hospital for his Support Group.

All you need to know about the prostate and cancer

This book was recommended to my husband and me at his diagnosis of prostate cancer. It is the most comprehensive book you will ever find to explain the workings of the prostate gland and the options for treating prostate cancer. It is written with the doctors at Johns Hopkins Hospital, which is the gold standard in this field. The author explains everything in laymen's terms, so it is easy to understand. After reading this, we went to Johns Hopkins and will have treatment there. All men should read this in order to better understand their bodies.

    Dr. Walsh's Surviving Prostate Cancer

Very informative. Husband just diagnosed. We received copy of book from Urologist and purchased one of our own. We both read the book and found we understood what the Oncologist was telling us. And we felt we made an informed and intelligent decision on treatment. We are now purchasing the newer version for our Library (Library had older edition)

Comprehensive, but presents a specific point of view

This is the book that my urologist gave me upon informing me that I had prostate cancer. The authors are very knowledgable. But they are very strong advocates of aggressive treatment.

A paradigm shift is occuring regarding prostate cancer. It is scary to receive that cancer diagnosis. But radical treatment may not always be the best option. Read other books that present a different point of view before taking an action that will change your life forever. Consider all of your choices.

    Prostate Cancer In a Nutshell!

This book was very informative, answered all our questions; gave us specifics regarding questions we had but weren't sure what we were asking; and then gave us information we would not have thought to ask about. Not all topics or chapters applied to us but we were so thristy for knowledge that it was great. We were able to get a brief overview on the topics that didnt apply to us to help with our overall understanding of what is happening and what is involved in this prostate cancer treatment, cure, options and what to expect after treatment. A great reference book to come back to later as well. HIGHLY recommended.
