This is a great book about a navy doctor in Viet Nam and interviews with the people whose lives he touched. You really get the feel of how brave and honorable these marines and corpsmen were and the horror of war that they had to deal with. A must read for all americans.

Dr Tom's War is the sometimes emotional journey of young lady's search to learn more about her father. Along the way, the reader gets a exceptional boots on the ground view of what life as a doctor, corpsman or marine in Vietnam was like. Lucia Viti not only tells her father's tale but also gives a voice to those who served in 1967 and returned and to those who never came back. The book is a great read for both history and military enthusiasts.

Well researched with the true story of the war with real marines, doctors, and corpsmen. You cannot put it down once you open it. It provides a sense of awe with these men. It also gives a true reflection of the daughter's emotional journey to discover her Father.

The box was filled with Vietnam memorabilia—the remnants of her father’s tour of duty in 1967 as a Battalion Surgeon in An Hoa. Lucia became obsessed with a need to reconnect with the memories of her father and spent four years traveling across America, gathering stories from the Marines of the Second Battalion Fifth Marine Regiment, First Marine Division who served alongside her father. This quest to learn about a Dr. Tom she never knew turned into a unique journey of discovery through the eyes of a very special brotherhood of young men. A journey that weaves the Marine esprit de corps with the horrors and humor of
