Overview

There were seven clans containing seven tribes on the dying planet of Annwn. Each tribe was protected by a dragon, solitary creatures condemned to an eternity alone for the sins of their king. An ancient prophecy proclaimed there would be born to each tribe a maiden, destined to awaken the long dormant desires of her tribe’s dragon. And now the prophecy was coming to pass.
But what did Uryen want with a maiden? He preferred his lonely existence, needed no comfort from weak, human arms. He was not an easy dragon. His fierceness would surely break one so fragile. He certainly had no need for the maiden Sippora. She was too delicate, too soft. How could one with such a tender and carefree heart hope to withstand a dragon’s heat?

“Do you not have enough sense to fear a creature who could snap you in two with his fingers?” Uryen snapped, shifting forms when his dragon had absolutely no effect on her.

Did she jump at his most fearsome growly tone? No! The woman whose head did not reach the middle of his chest dared to reach up and caress the side of his face before her eyes swept the length of his body. His very nude body. Damn it to the demon planet Hel, he was blushing! Those deep brown eyes that haunted his dreams were wide with wonder as her gaze centered directly on his cock. His very erect cock. This just could not happen now. The need to have her rode him so hard his head hurt.

“Why would I fear you? I was meant for you, was I not?” Her voice was sweeter than it had been in his head, impossibly innocent for a woman who looked at his cock like it was something good to eat. It was impossible to stand there and be upset with her when she spoke to him in that tone. “That is why you came to the village, to claim me before Dirk and Magna could.”

"You should do more than fear me," he growled, growing agitated at the mention of the human males. Perhaps he should go back and roast them after all. "I'm the dragon protector of your village. You should be terrified."

Instead of showing the fear he was trying so hard to illicit in her, she simply cocked her head to the side inquisitively. "Why? A dragon protector protects. He doesn't harm." She smiled at him then, a warm, genuine smile. "I'm completely safe with you."

She had to be kidding. The things he was imagining doing to her would have curled her toes and sent her running as hard and as fast as she could go away from him. She was too much of an innocent for his sexual appetites.

"You have no idea what you're playing with, woman." His voice was harsh, almost angry. "What I require in a mate you couldn't possibly handle."

The moment the words left his mouth, he regretted them. Uryn had never regretted anything in his existence up until that point. Hurt. Intense hurt flashed in her eyes before she turned her head away.

"Well, I guess you're damned because you're stuck with me." She didn't hesitate, but lifted her head and walked toward the castle encrusted with ornate jewels where he made his home. Even that didn't surprise him as much as what she did next. With every step she took, she shed her clothing. One piece at a time, until she walked away from him, hair brushing her ass with every sway of her hips. Not once did she look back at him.
