    Chees-alicious

I first read this trilogy about ten years ago, in the first half of my teenage years. It was my summer holidays and being the indolent youth I was back then, I managed to read over a 1000 pages of text in 3 days. I was completely absorbed, immersed in the world Weis and Hickman had created. However that was 10 years ago. I have to admit being a little tentative picking up a copy of the Annotated Chronicles a few days ago. The fantasy genre seems to suffer from an overwhelming amount of fluff sometimes and I wasn't sure how accurately my memory served me. Having entered several chapters some of my fears have been concerned - the writing is considerably worse than I remember. There are clunking moments of information dumps and awkward changes in point of view. But despite all this I overwhelmingly enjoying my return to the world of Kyrnn. There is a sense of rollocking fun to the novels which overwhelms any technical flaws. The author's notes are also a great feature. As well as being any fanboy (or -girl's) dream, they also appeal to me as an aspiring writer, giving insight into the authors' thought processes and as to why certain decisions were made. Weis and Hickman are also refreshingly honest about the books shortcomings. My one complaint about them is that, it being over 10 years since I read the book, I do not appreciate the spoilers liberally cast throught the annotations. Still an excellent read, with fun and informative annotations. Thoroughly recommended.

    Great Read

This Annotated version with authors notes in the margins will help you clarify some of the meanings of things and go deeper with the characters. Especially good for first time readers because of the notes and it includes all 3 books!

    A journey that never ends

I loved these books. I have reread them about seven times. I must reccommend them to anyone who ever thought that a book couldn't get any better, because these cannot.
