Legend of Huma is crowned one of the greatest DL books ever - by a 14 year old!

In my humble opinion (although only that of a 14 year old who is an EXTREMLY(sp?) avid reader) this is one of the best books of all time. It shows about Raistlin's Staff of Magius, how Huma helped Draco Paladin win the war against Takhisis(sp?), the Queen of Darkness. Magius didn't play as much of a role as I thought he would though. All in all - a great book

One of the all time best

I bought the e-reader version to replace a lost hard copy. Over the years, I have read this book several times. Each time I enjoy just as much as the first time.
It's excellently written, the characters are well defined, the plot is easy to follow yet each chapter still brings a new surprise.

    The Legend of Huma

Huma is a knight of legend among all the races of Krynn. He came from humble beginnings, fought through great challenges, and finally faced the dark goddess herself and prevailed...in a way. This is finally the telling of his story, the true story, without all the gloss and shine the ages have placed on it over the years.

Huma is a knight of Solamnia...an order dedicated to honor, truth, and loyalty. Known throughout the world for following their strict code. As the Queen of Darkness herself begins a war to conquer to world, nothing seems to be able to stop her. The knights fight valiantly to hold her back, but are losing ground little by little. As what must be the final battle approaches all seems lost. But Paladine, the god of good has a little something up his sleeve, but only if Huma can pass the tests put before him to test not only his mind and body, but his soul. And he must be willing to give up much to save the world.

I love this entire series, and this story has long been one of my favorites. It can be read independently of the rest since it is more of a history than a continuation of the world. The story is face paced and full of surprises, even to someone who has read it before. There is love, betrayal, respect won, and strange friends made. It is full of dragons, magic, knights, and the ever present battle of good vs evil.

    5/5

    I Also Recommend:

The Legend of Huma - NY Bestseller

    General Comments:
Whether you just like the Fantasy genre or you like DND (and Dragonlance in particular), this tale will entrance you. I am a die hard Dragonlance reader, but this one book started it all for me. A book that never loses pace and keeps you wanting to know what's next. Richard A. Knaak depicts heroism (in determination, in compassion, in love, in courage, in humility, in sacrifice, in ALL its aspects) in a character we would all admire. The continuity of story is seamless and no matter what genre you may prefer, this is just an all-around "feel good" read which leaves you in awe. Modern literary classic at its finest. Arguably one of the best tales ever told of all time. Hero defeating ultimate evil - what more could you want?

    Dragonlance specific comments:
We all need a hero, and Mr. Knaak has brought one forth that has helped make Dragonlance such a captivating fantasy realm. This is not to lessen any other author's contribution to the overall Dragonlance series but to emphasize that this book truly brought forth one of the main structures of this realm - the Solamnic Knights. The strong contrasts displayed in all these novels give the world its "realness" and thus able to captivate the human mind -if but for a moment. Mr. Knaak also has helped establish the Minotaur race with the characterization of Kaz in this novel and more recently, the Orcs through an off-shoot of the Minotaur Wars. All-in-all, this is a MUST read for any starting Dragonlance fan.

PS- My first book review, ever.

    amazing

I could never ask for a better telling of the legend of Huma. This book is extremely well written and thought out. I have about 15 dragonlance books and I had pretty high expectations for the story of Huma and this far exceeded my expectations.

    Best book I've ever read!

This is the first time I have ever read a Dragonlance novel. I found it very hard to put down. I liked the way the author chose his cover and names of the characters. I thought he was very creative and was an awesome book.

    Outstanding!

After reading few of Knaak's novels (Blizzard Series), i decided to read his bestseller 'Legend of Huma'. It turned out to be an Epic story of Honor, Faith and Courage that lead the Knight Huma in his journey to his destiny in saving the world of Krynn. I really liked Huma. His character is so Innocent and Pure, yet so Powerful and Determined. Also loved Kaz. First book of Knaak is a masterpiece. Great Characters, Great Story and Development, Great Action. Knaak implents a really touching love story in between. Really great dramatic ending. 'Est Sularis oth Mithas'.

    My favorite book

This is my all time favorite book I have ever read in my life. I loved the descriptions and how the charecters acted like a regular person. I would recomend this book to a person who didn't even like fantasy books. It is the all time, best written book I have ever read. I am a young writer so I read a lot of books for ideas and inspirations and this book is what made me want to become a writer.

This is a really great book!!!!

This book was among the best I have ever read.It gives additional info, where Dragons of a Autumn Twilight did not include. It tells of what things were like before the war of the lance, and it tells of how every thing came to be in the dragonlance world. I own many dragonlance books ,but this is one of my favorites and I highly recommend it.
