Would love to see more series like this. I liked reading them and I am 52. I passed them on to a young friend of mine that is 11 or 12. I felt they were safe for him to read because everything within the book was on the up and up. Fun books - loved them.

She does a great job at telling a great story in the Tolkien-style. A quest with highs and lows and a not so perfect main character. Kale, the main character, is someone anyone can relate to. The inner doubts and demons to the naivety of the unknown and hard to shake ideals that almost every person is born into.

But if you go deeply enough, you will see that there are legs to it. The story starts out with a girl named Kale(the main character) and her friend Dar traveling through a market. Soon she encounters a poor orphan girl of some race that is furry and the adventure begins. All the creatures and things that are mentioned in the book can seem a little confusing but there is a dictionary in the back. It seems a little slow at first but then after a short time the pace picks up dramatically. The characters in the book are very interesting and the author does a fantastic job in creating them. They all have distinct personalities and opinions. The story is deep often making you think twice about what you read. I found myself reading the same paragraph over to make sure I was interpreting it the right way. At points you also get the satisfaction of seeing the bad guy get what he deserves. Overall this a fantastic book for any Fantasy lover.

A wonderful second edition to the Dragon Keeper Chronicles. Follow Kale again as she learns more about herself, and more about her parents. Meet new characters and new dragons, and enjoy the adventure!

Kale and Dar have recently been accepted at The Hall, where they plan to learn more about Paladin and his ways. But after Kale rescues a young doneel named Toopka and the city of Vendela is attacked by giant poisonous spiders, she and her friends are thrown into another adventure. This time, they must rescue Kale's mother from Risto, find another meech dragon, and find out why all the dragons are joining Risto. Kale uncovers secrets about her past, as well as her new friend, Bardon's. There are many new characters, all delightful and interesting. I really liked this book. It is a great read for all fantasy lovers of all ages. Donita K. Paul is a wonderful storyteller and I can't wait to read her next book!

This book was amazing. After the ending to the previous book I really wanted to read this. It was amazing with yet another cool ending. Kale's talent grows...and gets a cooler and better dragon. Read it.

This is a Christian fantasy sequel to DragonSpell. Set in the mythical land of Amara, Kale Allerion has a new quest. She is summoned from her training at the Hall to help train the meech dragon. From there she embarks on a quest involving the evil wizard Risto, good comrades, laughter, dragons, and Kale's long-lost mother. I highly recommend this series to children, girls especially, ages 11-16. It is well-written and hilariously funny with memorable characters and Christian messages.

The ending of this book is absolutely fabulous! And as for the rest of the book, not too far off either. I was not able to read this book through as fast as I would like, as I was interrupted by a million different things. Yet, I'm so glad I was able to read it. Donita Paul really knows how to tell a story. Some characters you think you know until you don't, and it is in an amazing way that you didn't see coming. One of the things that she has put into her good vs. evil I have recently seen in a new book up and coming Beyond the Reflection's Edge by Bryan Davis. It is amazing how things of the devil can look so much like the wonders of God, until you really look at them and see what they are made of fully. This book continues right after where the first DragonSpell ended. But here, you get more characters added into this wonderful assortment of personalities. I love the wizards! There is adventure, and this is quite the comfy entertaining story without a worry in the world, unless you consider the mordalkeeps, and bisonbecks, or the other creatures that want to turn you over to the evil wizard Risto and keep you from realizing the truth and power of Paladin and Wulder. *sigh* The message here is so complete, and just in a form that is needed. This book will be great for kids, and prompt the right questions and a great direction for life. Highly recommended for people in all places of life!

This was an incredible book! Mrs. Paul's characters are very real, and she does an excellent job of incorporating Christian principles into the story. I can't wait to read Dragonknight and Dragonfire!!!

Usually my impression of sequels to books are not good. They sometimes are boring and less interesting to read. But Dragonquest was perfect. It continued the journeys of the characters, not once leaving any detail un touched and it was really enjoyable to read!. It kept me at the edge of my seat wanting to know more, it was very well writing. I can only hope that another book will be written to continue on the journeys of the dragon keeper maybe going into detail about her father or Bardon's past or something good!!!. I am one of those people who like to read continuing story lines!!!... especially with this one. Once again well done!

Ms Paul has surpassed herself in this amazing sequel!!!! The book was thrilling! A book I could not put down! I am in my mid 40s and plan on passing it on to my kids (elementary age). Dragon Quest has the simplicity of Alice in Wonderland with 'hidden messages' should you choose to read them! GREAT for ALL ages!

Eventually she made it to the Hall where she expected to be in service, but instead is a student, a difficult adjustment for one who has always been in servitude. --- The Wizard Fenworth learns of the exploits of the dragonkeeper of Paladin as Kale is known; he sends for her to come to The Bogs as his apprentice and to nurture his youngling a recently hatched meech dragon-infant. Her teachers at the Hall send swordsman and fellow student Bardon to accompany her. Kale dislikes Bardon, but the journey is long and dangerous and he seems to always be there when she needs him until the evil Wizard Risto makes his latest move. He has attained a new meech dragon that makes him nearly invincible; he plots vengeance on the slave girl who defeated him recently before conquering Amara. --- This spectacular sequel stars a delightful young heroine still struggling to understand the change in her circumstances from servitude to student. Bardon is a fabulous sidekick as he irritates and fascinates Kale, whose just discovering the attractive non-mischievous side of boys. The evil villain Risto is the perfect adversary in DRAGONQUEST as he obsessively needs to defeat the little girl who humiliatingly defeated him before and then conquer the world. Donita K. Paul provides a delightful fantasy that both the Potter and Tolkien crowds will treasure.--- Harriet Klausner

Overview
A New Quest BeginsA dragonkeeper of Paladin, Kale is summoned from the Hall to The Bogs by the Wizard Fenworth to serve as his apprentice and tend his newly hatched meech dragon, Regidor. But Kale isn’t going alone. The Hall is sending a student to monitor her performance and report back to the scholars. Worst of all, it’s Bardon–an older boy Kale finds irritating, but who at least can hold his own in a sword fight.
