Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Judy Silverman
Here's a very interesting supposition. Dragons are reptiles, so there should be no such thing as dragons' milk, right? But dragons are also magic, so anything goes. Young Kaeldra is told that only dragons' milk can cure her foster sister's mysterious illness. Now, dragons are supposed to have left Elythia ages ago, but they left a clutch of eggs, which take 100 years to hatch. When the eggs hatch, the mother dragon will return. And rumor has it that a clutch of dragons' eggs has just hatched, so if Kaeldra finds it, and can persuade the mother to give her some milk . . . . Of course that would be too simple. For instance, how can she pay the dragon for her milk? To add to her troubles, a young dragon-slayer is also looking for the draclings (baby dragons). And Kaeldra has found out something very important, and rather scary. She can communicate with dragons. Recommended for anyone who loves fantasy.

    A Great Book

Young Kaeldra lives in a home full of dark haired and dark eyed people, which Kaeldra is not. Her height, blonde hair, and green eyes sets her apart from people along with her wierd sence of odd things. When Lyf ,Kaeldra's foster sister, gets sick from Vermillion Fever Kaeldra must go to a dragon cave and bring home milk. Not just any milk but 'Dragons Milk'. The simple quest for milk turns into an all out chase for Kaeldra and her talent. Fast paced at times, odd, and exciting this book doesn't fall short of 'satifying'.

    Love this book

I first read this in middle school, and I could not help but fall in love with it. It is well written, filled with dynamic characters, and tells a brilliant story. This is a book that you will come back to again and again and will leave you hungry for more.

    Adventure, fantasy, and dragons

This book is about a young girl named Kaeldra. She feels left out of her family because she looks different - especially her eyes. Kaeldra's eyes are a brilliant green. Her Granmyr thinks that she is a dragonsayer, which means that she can talk to dragons. After Kaeldra hears voices, cries, and roars that no one can hear in a storm, Granmyr knows that she is a dragonsayer. Then, Lyf, Kaeldra's step-sister, gets sick with vermillion fever. The only thing that can save her is dragon's milk. Kaeldra goes up a mountain to find a dragon. She meets Fiora, a dragon dam (mother). Fiora will only give her milk if she takes care of Pyro, Synge, and Embyr, her three draclings (baby dragons). Kaeldra gets enough milk for Lyf to get well, and right when Kaeldra thinks that she is done takings care of the ever-hungry draclings, Fiora is slain. Now, Kaeldra has to take them north to their kyn - the other dragons, known as "The Ancient Ones". However, dragons are hated beyond belief in her area, and if she is caught with three hyper, hungry draclings, she and the dragons could be killed.

    My first real book

I had this book read to me when I was 12 and 19yrs later I still remember it all. This is a book that all children should have read to them. I am waiting till my daughter is older so i can read and share this amazing adventure with her. This book is amazing and was the book that made me want to get lost in more stories for the rest of my life. Thank you Ms. Fletcher for a great ride 19 yrs ago and still today.

    Wowowo

Hold the pone. Lame! Even the overview is super corny. Oh the dangerouse journey. The predictable happy ending. Oh the bravery. I can hear my younger brothers hamster quaking at the sight of te ferosiouse beast!
" Dont eat e mrs dragon. I am but a humble rodent eho hates cows milk!"
I can just hear the cows laghing now. Even the title of this book is rediculouse. I would e more interested in a book called goats milk.
    Anyway
    Read it if you want
I am only wrighting based on the descriptiojn of the book. Authers do know that the descrition placed on an ebook is all a kid has to go on right?
We cant pick it up and handle it.
All we can do is read the description. Then if we have any interest we can read reviews.
Otherwise we never get pasr descriptions.

    Great story!

It is a great book and great storyline with lots of twist that are easy to predict. The only reason this doesnt have 5 stars is because somehow words and phrases were mushed together to make words that were unreadable. The punctuation was also screwed up.

    Hi

I have NOT read it yet ,i would like to, but i dont think a dragon could have milk and nurse the way mamles do. Also a dragon becoming a dragonslayer seems a bit off.
