Overview

For most, a plane crash means the end of life. For Dusti Dawson, it's just the beginning...

Dusti and her sister Batina survived the crash, thanks to a couple of brothers who are equal parts menacing and muscled. She'd be grateful...if they hadn't turned out to be delusional kidnappers, who believe Dusti's grandfather is some monstrous half-breed creature bent on murder. Turns out Vampires, Lycans, and Gargoyles do exist-and they've been crossbreeding to form two hybrid races. Drantos, the man Dusti can't stop lusting after, is one of the most dangerous of all.

VampLycans Drantos and Kraven were sent to eliminate a threat to their clan. But when that threat turns out to be mostly human women, clueless of their lineage, plans change-especially after Drantos gets a taste of Dusti's blood. Now, he'll die to protect her. Even if that means walking away from everything he knows to keep her at his side.

Is her strong desire for Drantos reason enough to endure danger coming from all sides? Or should Dusti cut and run the first chance she gets?

Author Note: VLG stands for Vampires, Lycans, Gargoyles...and breeds in between. Living in Alaska's harsh, pristine territories, these creatures live and love fiercely. These are their stories.

I'm a big fan of Ms. Dohmer but this book missed by a long shot. I understand the need for background info on the characters and history of the Vamp Lucas etc. but did we need it all in one book and not just once but repeatedly, and often. This book spends more time with the history lesson than it does with the characters. I love being able to just buy Ms. Dohmer books without reading reviews first, after this book however I'll definitely be reading them carefully. I hate it when authors go this commercial, I'd be glad to wait longer between books if the work was good, this was a big disappointment.

The first in a new series by LD and it starts off action packed. At first you have the four main characters and only a glimpse of who they are. The story continues and this new world of vamplycans begins to take shape. Drantos and Dusti become the focus. Both are good hearted, humorous people who deal with a life changing revelation...or ten. The plot and store move forward, the characters also move forward. The story is full of action, some back story and world building and some character building. As with any of the LD series these are single book stories that are part of a series with main characters who only get one book. They're fleshed out as much as is needed for the story and we will undoubtedly see them again. It makes for a great read with hot sex and lots going on without being bogged down in too many details or too many character reflections. You won't have to sit through pages of internal dialoque and struggles. If you enjoy some steamy scenes, down to earth characters and an easy storyline to follow you will enjoy this paranormal erotic romance. I, personally, can't wait for the next book to release.

Laurann done it again, another fantastic story, it is vampires lycans, and gargoyles, and it is fastinating. Open your mind to another world of story telling. Can't wait for the next book! Laurann writes several different series of books and she just added a new one to the list, it is now one of my favorite.

I'm so glad there's a new book out and it was worth the wait. Well developed story and great chemistry between the characters. It doesn't skimp on the dialogue and story line and now I can't wait for her next book.

Got really boring most of the time. I liked Dusti at first then couldn't stand her. She acts like a teenager with all her bickering and complaints. The parts that were interesting didn't last long at all. More history than actual story line. Hope the next in series will be better...

I have read all of the species and cyborg series and expected the same kind of romantic series with this new one. I was dissapointed, it missed the mark. I have never not finished reading one of her books, but this one I actually had to stop.

I love her writing style and got sucked into the world, but it didn't have any surprises. It would be nice if the women weren't always lacking when it came to powers and abilities.

I liked the characters and the romance. I wanted Dusti to just bust out with some powers to shut everyone up about her being so weak.
