About the Author

Susie Hodge has written over 100 books on art, art history and artistic techniques. In addition, she hosts lectures, talks and practical workshops, and regularly appears on television and radio, as well as in documentaries. She has twice been named the No. 1 art writer by The Independent. For more information about Susie, visit her website www.susiehodge.com. Jonathan Newey is an award-winning artist with extensive experience in many drawing and painting mediums including coloured pencil. He comes from a long line of artists and studied art and design at the London College of Printing. He is a City & Guilds qualified teacher and has over 20 years' experience of teaching in adult education. He has many drawings and paintings in collections both nationally and internationally and has demonstrated for most of the top manufacturers in the UK. Jonathan is an active promoter of the coloured pencil as a serious drawing medium and is a founder member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society.
Susie Hodge has a passion for art education and has been teaching practical art and art history to children and adults for over 11 years. She has written and illustrated many books including "Art Attack" How to Draw, Drawing... is Fun! and many titles in the Art in History series. She also works for the Royal Academy, the Tate and the V&A museum to produce booklets for visitors, teachers and students. She lives in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex.
