    Excellent Reference

As the title implies, this is a reference book, not a step-by-step demonstration guide. It discusses the range of drawing materials, techniques, and surfaces available to the modern artist. It is a great "go to" book when I am in the concept stage and thinking about, "okay, how do I want to go about this?" as well as a good reference for expanding one's set of techniques. The text is very clear and concise, which is unusual for art books.
