Overview

What happens when Rory travels halfway across the country to meet the girl of his dreams? Certainly not what he expected...

Rory's just be a simple southern boy from St. Antoine's Parish, Louisiana, but he knows what he wants -- the girl of his dreams, reclusive and mysterious artist Ran Yamane. He's loved her since junior high school, and now he has the chance to meet her. He chucks everything and travels 1,500 miles to Anime Expo in Long Beach just so he can tell her. He's determined that nothing and nobody are going to stand in his way.

Turns out, Ran Yamane isn't a girl, but he gets that a lot. People come to him with teddy bears and chocolates and disappointment by the truckload. He's trusted fans in the past and paid the price. So when he meets Rory he is understandably wary, but resigned. He isn't prepared for his magnetic attraction to the young man, Rory's apparent willingness to overlook his gender, and the chaos that ensues when his number one fan (and psycho stalker) shows up to get revenge.

    A must read!

Loved loved this book, 579pgs. I recomend to anyone looking to read beyond your average m/m story. This book had so much to offer; romance, suspense, steamy scenes, an amazing plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This book was worth every penny I spent and more. 5stars

    Summary
Drawn Together by Z.A. Maxfield is the ultimate fan fantasy trip. The hero, Rory, meets the anime artist of his dreams, finds out Ran Yamane is a man instead of a women, and falls in love anyway. Rory fights to save his beloved from an evil stalker while adjusting his romantic ideals and trying to convince Yamane he's more than just a fan.

    Fantasy World
Drawn Together requires several leaps of faith from the reader. Firstly that a popular artist who has been the subject of much stalking is willing to invite an unknown fan back to his room immediately after meeting him. If you are willing and able to suspend a bit of disbelief, this story most definitely a fun journey.

    Tingle Factor
It is hot like the bayou in this book. Rory is all American male while Yamane has an androgynous appeal which is unique. Drawn Together has a sensuous appeal which is reminiscent of scented baths by candlelight.

    Romance
In many m/m romance novels the sex is the romance. Drawn Together has more story and heart than that. Both characters have feelings as well as genitals.

    Drama
The author keeps the drama high by sending the boys on a road trip to escape the mother of all stalkers, Amelia. She is resourceful and devious. You'll love hating her.

    Hero#1
Rory is a big hearted Cajun determined to pursue happiness since enduring the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. He realizes his attraction to Yamane in slow steps which makes the gay for you plot more believable. Rory is scrappy and resourceful and a whole basketful of fun.

    Hero #2
Ran Yamane is an artfully drawn character. He has many contradictory characteristics which blend together in unexpected ways. For instance he is a delicate man with an appearance like a china doll, but is also undeniably male. Yamane exhibits both the reserved Asian and outgoing American characteristics of his heritage sometimes simultaneously. You'll be disappointed you can't join his fan club too.
