    AAMBC Book Reviews

was pleasantly surprised while reading this book. the story is about philip mcintosh, a cultural anthropologist, who is summoned from the suburbs of montego bay, Jamaica to the maroon village of accompong to investigate recent unexplained deaths. the maroon people shun modern technology and hold fast to their traditional way of living. philip descends from the maroon people and feels that this would be a perfect opportunity to show his wife and seven year old his family history and traditions. his son, drew can be described as precocious and quickly draws the attention of the elders in the village. The reader will find that this will be no routine visit as a battle between good and evil soon ensues which puts the beliefs of the elders, philip, and his family to the test. i don't want to give away key points but i highly recommend this book to others. If you like battles that involve the supernatural, then this book is definitely for you. The storyline is smooth with well defined characters.
