Deltora Dread Mountain by Emily Rodda

Leif is a 16 year old boy, growing up in a time when kings and queens ruled the land, who is trying to save his home with the help of two of his friends. Jasmine is a 16 year old orphan girl and Barda used to be a palace guard.
The trio from the beginning of the story are on a quest to retrieve the missing 5th gem in the belt of Deltora. While on their journey, they meet the ancient Kin, an old and almost forgotten race. They drink from a dream spring which gives them a vision of what Dread Mountain looks like. They travel there with the Kin, only to be trapped a half hour later by the old gnomes.
The gnomes are guards for the giant toad, who has the 5th gem stuck in his eyebrow. After freeing themselves from the trap by the gnomes, they are only to be caught again by the gnomes in a secret area with a steel door. Finally able to talk with the gnomes, they reach a mutual agreement to be set free and kill the toad to free the gnomes and retrieve the gem.
They wait til night, then they go into kill the toad, only to discover that one of the gnomes betrayed them to the toad. They manage to hide in gold and are able to throw a bottle of the spring water into his mouth that turns the toad into a tree. They get the gem when it falls out of the tree.
The meaning of the story is about an unlikely trio and their friendship that takes them on adventures to find missing gems. I liked the story because of the adventures. When I go to the sand dunes, it is always an adventure because of the rides I go on. Learning how to ride quads in the sand dunes is not an easy task. I also found Dread Mountain to be like Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. They both have tons of adventures. I have read Percy Jackson and the Titans Curse also, I recommend both of these books for the magic and adventures.

this is a review for deltora quest dread mountain

The name and author of this book are dread mountain deltora quest by emily rodda. leif is a tall young boy about no older than 13 with short hair. barda is tall slim and is also about 13 with short hair. jasmine is a girl long hair tall little bit bigger 14 years old and has a cat and bird named kree and filie.
what happens is they are on a quest to find all 7 gems before the shadow lord wipes out everyone in the village of del.the have 7 quests for 7 gems. in this particular one the must fighta gaint toad and retreive the 5 gem wich gives them the power to see the future.on the way they meet a group of winged walking wolfs called the kin. before they meet the kin they find a forest full if trees that all look the same. they find a spring that has a sign that says 'those who drink from here with a heart of good shall have pleasent dreams but those who drink with the heart of evil they will be turned to tree.' there is really no setting to this book but from the way the series starts out it sound like it is back bout 1000. i liked this book because it has a lot of action and adventure. i can connect this to my self because every time i go to the dunes it is like an adventure and is has action because the dunes aren't just something that is flat land it is a hard experince for first time riders. i would also recommend these two books that i have at the bottom because of all the action and adventure in them.
