Overview

Hannah Miller's Amish faith is solid. Her devotion to her family and Indiana community is unquestionable. Yet her young spirit longs for adventure and romance. As troubling circumstances give her good reason to spend the summer at her aunt's Montana horse ranch, Hannah soon discovers she has much to learn about life and love.

Her heart is awhirl with emotion as she dreams about her future. Sam, the boy Hannah has known all her life, is comfortable and predictable. Peter is the wild one, the boy who is on rumspringa. And Jake is unpredictable, intriguing, and living in the Montana wilderness.

Hoping for a dream come true, Hannah must decide how to fulfill her heart's desire while staying true to her faith.

I enjoyed A Dream for Hannah; it's a sweet story of first love. A Dream for Hannah will, however, forever be the first book I read where I could relate more to the parents than to the main character - yes, I feel old - it must be that birthday I had last week. A Dream for Hannah is a beautifully written story of first love, broken hearts, and redemption. The characters are well-developed and likable; the reader wants to see them all find happiness in the end. The book is set in the Amish world, but could easily be a story of any first love. A Dream for Hannah will likely be enjoyed most by adolescents or young adults wanting to read a tale of innocent love set amongst the Amish sect. I received this book from Harvest House Publishers in exchange for my honest review. The thoughts printed in this review are entirely my own.
