Overview

Good night, sleep tight,
Don't let the magic mirror bite . . .

My friend Robin and I were going to have the best sleepover ever. We'd stay up late, eat s'mores, share secrets -- and NOT knock on my magic mirror. I was NOT getting pulled into another fairy tale.

But the mirror STILL ends up pulling me and my brother, Jonah, into Sleeping Beauty's story -- and this time, Robin comes with us, too! When Robin pricks her finger on the spindle, I know we're in trouble. Now she's fast asleep, Sleeping Beauty is wide awake, and I have to:

- Host a fake birthday party for Jonah
- Find a prince to wake up Robin
- Avoid getting cursed by scary fairies

We only have ten hours to make things right . . . or this day will become a nightmare!

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Annie Laura Smith
How do plans for the best sleepover ever turn into a Sleeping Beauty scenario, and possibly even a nightmare? The magic mirror in Abby’s basement transports Abby, her brother Johan, and best friend Robin into a fairy tale world. Readers can follow the trio’s exciting adventures as they try to undo their predicament. This book is number four in the “Forever After” series. Previous stories have transported readers into the world of Snow White, Cinderella, the Little Mermaid, and Rapunzel. Engaging black-and-white illustrations (e.g., a mirror, wand, and bed) appear at the beginning of each chapter. The characters will have familiar voices, and find themselves in typical situations (i.e. slumber parties), as today’s kids. Young readers who are looking for a chapter book series to read independently will enjoy these twists on traditional fairy tales. This novel is an enchanting fantasy as it echoes the story of Sleeping Beauty in a modern setting. Reviewer: Annie Laura Smith; Ages 8 to 14.
