ONE OF THE BEST! I bought the bundle and just had to write about the Dreamer before I went on to book 2 of this series. I stayed up until 3:20 A.M., reading this story. As our reviewer's have said, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! When I got to the end of this story, I was disappointed that the CURSE wasn't explained. Then reading more of what the author's wrote at the end of The Dreamer, I realized that it was all explained The Flame. So I just ordered it and waiting for it to appear in my Nook (why can't it be as fast as the Kindle)? Anyway, the way everything is described I could picture the hill sides, the Castle, EVERYTHING! The lovemaking scenes were very well written, not erotica type, but still got my heart a racing!!! This is a fantastic storyline, many twists, turns and downright suspenseful. I can't recommend this book highly enough. I would suggest doing better research than I did, and read at least the Flame first, and who knows what else I missed. This book can stand alone, but why not enjoy the way these writer's weave their stories and get lost in the HIGHLANDS. (LJB)

This book is exquiset! Loved the way the book flowed together. The book has so much passion, as well as rebellion when Catherine Percey finds herself in a bed with a man. He had snuck in her bed thinking she was his fiance. His wife ran off, so he made her his bride. He took her back to his castle, where she despised him! Love took a turn with many events happeneing.

I found this book to be fantastic, once I got into it. It took me until about the middle of the book to really get into the Percy storyline, with the Treasure and all... but I loved the book nonetheless. As soon as I finished it, I picked up the second in the series and couldn't put it down! It's a refreshing change to have the man in the story realize he loves the woman before the book's last twenty pages... the main two characters have a dazzling romance that will leave those who love historical romances woven with adventure and mystery with a smile. This is a must read for anyone who loves romances in the Highlands!!

In 1535, the three sisters flee Yorkshire, England when they learn their father is dead and accused of being a traitor. The oldest sibling Catherine Percy flees to Scotland where she meets the traveling Ellen Crawford, fiancee of Lord Athol, John Stewart. At an inn, Ellen gets Catherine to switch rooms. John enters the room expecting Ellen but finds himself compromised with Catherine.

To save her reputation, John insets they immediately marry. He does not wait for her reply, but instead sends for a priest. After they are wed, he becomes frustrated with his spouse when she insists on opening a school, which leads to a feud with his own brother Adam. Still, the duo begins to fall in love with one another, but she fears letting herself fully go to him because she worries about her two sisters and the English King¿s men.

The first entry in the Highland Treasury series, THE DREAMER, is a gem of a historical romance that will elate fans of Scottish tales. The story line is fast-paced, filled with action, and contains a bit of a mystery involving a treasure. Readers will find John and Catherine enchanting, especially the hero who appeared in a previous novel. The return of other characters adds a sense of depth and homecoming even as the audience will want to read the tales of Laura, Adrianne, and more about the treasure as well as other works by marvelous May McGoldrick.

I really thought I would like this book since it has so many great reviews but I just couldn't get into it. I love historical romances but this book didn't do it for me. The writing itself was good but there wasn't any chemistry between the lead characters. I didn't feel any romance, chemistry, or sexual tension between them. Not a horrible book but wasn't a page turner either.
