Finally, Dreamland in hand for long trips!

After being an aficionado of fine web-comics for a decade, I finally found the ¿Dreamland Chronicles¿ series a few years ago, and have read them daily ever since. Salva is a wonderful author and illustrator; his characters are dynamic, sympathetic, and exciting, and his narrative gripping. While this series is engaging for teens and adults (such as myself), it is also clean, making it appropriate for reading to young children, who are otherwise excluded from many well illustrated and narrated series by overly violent or sexualized material. However, while Salva is dedicated to being family oriented, his stories and characters are anything but juvenile.

We are buying the first two books as a gift for Christmas for both our own family (including children 6 and 8 who adore fantasy such as J.K Rowling and Watterson), and for my older teenage brother and sister-in-law, who have graduated to Tolkein and C.S. Lewis books in their own love of fine literature and who are enamored with anime. Thankfully, this is a series that I will have no angst reading again and again to my young ones, who are already enamored of Salva¿s online work and animations¿Dreamland¿s just as good the second read as the first, and that¿s high praise for a ¿comic.¿ I can¿t wait to get the next books, and to see the epic series finished. Dreamland has just the right amount of danger and delight, a fine mixture of fantasy and sweetness without being saccharine, and is so well drawn that the characters stand far out from the average author¿s work. I fondly hope that someday the right studio will realize that this author/illustrator¿s work is screen ready, and that I will be able to take my small ones to a Dreamland Chronicles animated feature!
