Meet the Author

A. J. Lath has often been told that he has a wild and overactive imagination, and nowadays lets it all out by means of writing stories and working as an illustrator. He has had a small number of short stories published in the small presses, and in his professional life has illustrated CD covers and supplied 3D graphics for videogames.

Dreamshade is his first book; it was inspired by an article about childhood imaginary friends, which led him to wonder ... what if those friends were real? And what if those friends had enemies?

    Inspiring

Though personally the language is a bit verbose, its vivid descriptions pull you in to the story and hold you there. I am looking forward to reading more.

    Loved it

This is a story about an ordinary little boy with an extraordinary talent. Benjamin Crosskeys is an extremely likable character with a great story he is just beginning to live through. The writing was beautiful, and the world created was so wonderful. There are a lot of things left unanswered so I am excitedly awaiting the second book!

    Loved it!

What a thoroughly enjoyable, delighfully whimsical, colorfully fantastical tale! The author's vivid imagination and mastery of the descriptive word soon enfold you into the story. I've been looking forward to writing this review since page 251, and hope to encourage someone else to take this journey into the world the author has created that I enjoyed so much.

If this was a movie, it would be rated "G" for it's good, clean fun and I would want to see it to visit the incredible sights of Niamago. Can't wait to read more about Benjamin's adventures and hopefully catch up with the irrepressible Lilac once again.

Oddly nice little book - I loved it. Definitely worth reading.

This book was weird in it's premise and odd all around. It was very endearing, however, and I hope for more. I loved it. Definitely worth reading.

    Long and dull

I found the book to be fairly well written and full of imaginative creatures and world. I also found it tedious and booring. Too detailed and not very exiting. It took me over a week to read because it kept putting me to sleep. I would have not finished it, but I already had so much time invested that I had to see it through. Do not want to know if one comes after it.

    Good story

At time the book got a little too descriptive for my taste, but the story was well done and it really gives your imagination a fun ride.
