Meet the Author

Cassandra Davis (Amy to her friends and family) was raised an army brat: constantly traveling, making new friends every four years, and surrounded by an unique military culture. In the seventh grade, she complained to her English teacher that she’d read every fiction book in the library. The teacher handed Cassandra a blank notebook and told her to write her own stories.

After working as a US Senate aide for four years, Mrs. Davis became a stay-at-home mom and author. She now lives on the Northern California coast with her husband and two sons.

    I couldn't put it down

Loved this book - what a great read. Humans meet an alien species. The aliens offer us technology and in exchange we offer to help them save their planet. Of course there is more intrigue and drama to the plot then that! I loved Capt Hill's cool, calm demeanor. If this ever gets made into a movie Jon Hamm should play Capt Hill. Author left it wide open for a sequel and I hope she writes one.

Dremiks is a combination of Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and the Big Bang Theory — in other words — great plot, abundant characters, plenty of action, enough science to make the story credible, and just enough romance to keep you believing that all this could really happen. I look forward to reading more from Cassandra Davis.

In Dremiks, Cassandra Davis sets up a space opera with most of the right ingredients: an interesting future history embued with only a trace of satire, an alien encounter premise that holds the interest, and an easy-paced writing style that keeps the story on track. The novel is at its best in its action and alien encounter scenes, which read like great golden age sci-fi mag novella material. The novel's portrayal of its two main protagonists did not work well for me, as I found their scenes less fascinating than the "big picture" space story on offer. This is a good old-fashioned plot-driven sci-fi, whose virtues strongly outweigh its imperfections.
