Overview

This collection of short poems reflects a blend and diversity of life experiences from a journey that began in 1943 Mississippi. It traveled through the South, then West to California, and sailed the Far East (during the Vietnam era). It ended in Connecticut, the home of the author's father. With basic language the author creates rich poetic expression from ordinary ideas and circumstances. These works span a lifetime of observations and emotions on many planes of thought and cultural experience. There is a discernable philosophical objective, or value, to be found within most selections. It is timeless and ageless in style and essence. Every reader should find significance, entertainment, and reflective meaning, throughout.

Wonderful collection that speaks to anyone who picks it up. Especially like the one about the child growing up.

Driftwood and Sand is a collection of poetry that spans decades of travel and life circumstances experienced by the author. Touching and poignant in pieces like 'They Never Knew' revealing the pure and unselfish love of a father and at the same time humorous and observant as in 'Cell Phone Diva'. This book makes a great gift as the poems convey feelings all of us have felt. It's inexpensive and a light read, great for a plane flight or summer beach reading.
