Drip Drop Teardrop is a very short story at just over sixty pages. The storyline follows a young girl that was orphaned at nine years old after a tragic car accident with her parents. Her loving Aunt takes her in happily, but now a terminal cancer has taken hold and the future for Avery looks to be very lonely. While out with her friends one night every month at the local 4.0 night club; she has several run ins with a mysterious man named Brennus. Little does Avery know Brennus is following her for a reason, and it just might cost her her life. Avery is a simple character, and readers will find it easy to sympathize with her character. Brennus is mysterious and a bit scary. When Avery discovers Brennus is actually death; it is easy to understand why her character would be accepting of his true character. While her impression seems much darker than his true character; with a life surrounded by death it is realistic to believe see would accept existence of a Reaper with ease. The romance of this story just goes to show what a talented author Young is for writing a heart stopping romance. Brennus and Avery offer a intense and swift romance carrying readers through the story effortlessly. Leaving a final question is it worth it all for the someone that you love.

Simply Breath taking! This novella was beautifully written. A young woman cares for the only family she has left, her ill aunt. She lost her family as a young girl and her aunt dropped everything to care for her. She tries to do what she can to keep her happy since she is so ill. Her aunt tells her to take time and enjoy herself with some friends. That's when the young woman meets one of deaths many helpers and falls for him. Samantha Young has a way of writing that is simply breath taking!! I recommend this novella to anyone who enjoys a love story with many possible endings!

Omg I loved this book. It was well written and rasy to just fall into. The entire time I felt like I actualy was the main character. I was captivated by the things she was, sad when she was etc. This book is well worth the short couple of hours it will take tread it.

Couldn't believe this came from Samantha Young. I love her other books, but this one left me almost angry at the time wasted to read it.

Short book=Short Review This is my first sampling of Samantha Young’s work and I am intrigued. Drip Drop Teardrop takes a new, interesting twist on the afterlife and I thought it was both original and in many ways refreshing. One of the themes in this book is the woman defending herself and not needing the man to protect her. Today in literature, particularly YA PNR, you see a lot of the girl getting into very, very bad fixes and her Prince Charming sweeping in on a white horse to save her. There’s none of that here and I’m still trying to figure out if that’s a bad thing or a good thing. On one hand, it was nice to see a heroine who didn’t need her man to rescue her when things got nasty, on the other, it would have been nicer to see Brennus show a little more protectiveness. I can appreciate that the author was trying to portray the strong female character who doesn’t need saving, but I wanted a little more proof that her significant other would do whatever it took to save her if it became necessary. The main character here is nineteen, but I think this book nudges the boundaries of YA a little too far. Yes, there were steamy parts in here I skipped (don’t judge me). But the most disturbing part for me was the backstory of Avery trading her virginity with her high school boyfriend (who was a total donkey’s rear end) in exchange for not accepting a position at a school dance. I just—she what? Other than my aforementioned concerns, I thought this story was well-written, interesting, and I would probably read the sequel. I am now curious about Young’s other books and I plan to start her other YA paranormal romance series soon!

great short story!  all of us wished we were loved this much by a man.  I realize it was a novella but it would have been nice to have learned a little bit more detail about WHY Brennus loved Avery all those years and details about their week together would have been nice too.  but overall, good story.
