One man on a mission…

One hard-working woman…

One bet that’ll make sparks fly…

Developer Mason Falco clawed his way to the top through hard work, killer instincts, and sheer determination. But time is money, and when the owner of a farm refuses to sell the land crucial to making his latest project a success, he’ll do what it takes to convince the sultry, stubborn woman to sign on the dotted line.

Kayla Phillips is holding on by a thread, on the verge of losing the farm she inherited from her grandfather. It’s only a matter of time before she’s forced into foreclosure, but there’s no way she’s selling to Falco. His good looks and sex appeal might work on some women—okay, it works on her too—but she’s not about to sell to a man intent on bulldozing her family’s legacy.

A war of words turns into a wager—and Kayla’s only chance to save the farm. All she has to do is prove to the billionaire that he can’t handle two weeks of living the life of a farmer. She never expected the burning desire she feels whenever Mason’s around. But are his feelings for her genuine, or just a ploy to get what he wants? With her heart and the family business on the line, will she risk it all for love?

Driven is an enjoyable romance. Mason and Kayla are both extremely stubborn and determined to get what they want. While that isn't necessarily a bad thing, I really wanted to slap some sense into them several times. Kayla had a passion for her life that was evident in everything she did. Mason changed through the story as he learned what is really important in life. That money doesn't buy happiness. That life without passion can be cold and meaningless. There were several events that occurred in the book which seemed important when they happened but were never mentioned again. Harlan's cut, Pat, Mason asking for complete details of the spinal injury...even the kittens. Then nothing. I found that a bit odd. I definitely recommend reading Driven: Southern Alphas Book 1. It Is a great start to a series. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.

LOVE this new series! Wonderful story set in one of my favorite cities, Orlando. Love that Kayla is a strong woman who doesn't back down from sexy alpha male, Mason! Loved all the characters in this book, sets up well for a series that I can't wait to read and see what happens!

Thus was such an AWESOME book!! First the reasons I loved it: set in Florida, not too far from me; mentioning my favorite grocery store Publix; horses; and a female lead with brown hair and eyes!! I can't wait to read the next installment!! I had such a hard time putting this book down as it was!!! Super great read for free at about 147 pages!!!!

What a great start to the new Southern Alphas series! I've recently read some really dark stories that left me emotionally exhausted. DRIVEN was a refreshing departure. It's the perfect blend of two people: one rich in money, the other rich in family and the memories they share. I love stories with strong, independent women. It takes an equally strong man to build enough trust to eventually show their vulnerabilities to. Mason Falco definitely fits that bill! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I'm no author but I know good writing when I see it. DRIVEN was a true pleasure to read. Can't wait to pick up the rest of the series!

Mason Falco is ruthless: he needs the land where Whispering Oaks Equestrian Farm sits, for his property development, and he’s going to get it. He’s on his way to meet the owner and make her a final offer. Kayla Phillips’s farm is her life; she promised her grandfather that she would keep it in the family, but the business is not bringing in enough money, and Kayla even has to work part-time as a bartender to make ends meet. Mason never expected that recalcitrant owner to be so enticing, and even though the infuriating man threatens Kayla’s life, she cannot help but be attracted to him. But still, business is business, and Kayla makes a bet to try to delay the inevitable. DRIVEN is Lori Sjoberg’s first full-length contemporary romance and the first book in her new Southern Alphas series. Ms. Sjoberg’s knowledge of horses, riding and everything that happens on an equestrian farm is extremely impressive, and those passages are simply glorious, so eloquent and vivid. I also enjoyed very much the family relationships, whether Kayla’s or Mason’s, especially since their respective family histories couldn’t be any more different. DRIVEN is very well written, it flows well; it’s a quick and pleasant read with a terrific ending, and I’m looking forward to the following books. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
