Meet the Author

Jennifer Skully's dream has come true! She now spends her days penning the stories that have been coming to life for her since she was a child. Though recent corporate events can attest to the creativity of accountants, Jennifer has given up the world of balance sheets and P&L statements for the writing life. She lives in the foothills of a gorgeous California mountain range, with her husband of twenty-odd years, her dog, Star, and her three cats, Louis, Boneyard and Eddie Munster.

If you like your romantic suspense fast-paced and laced with humor, try a Jennifer Skully novel. She adores quirky characters. The wackier the better! And you'll find a whole cast of them in her novels--quirky romances bubbling over with humor, self-discovery and a great big dollop of suspense.

Jennifer also writes spicy contemporary romance as Jasmine Haynes, and as JB Skully, she's created the popular Max Starr series, erotic ghostly mysteries. Of course, being in the same body with these two, Jennifer doesn't let you down on the hot, sexy love scenes, either.

    An excellent story teller!

Madison O'Donnell is the perky secretary for T. Laurence Hobbs. She is convinced that she is going to die at the age of twenty-eight by a stroke, just as her father did. Why? Because she also had a stroke at the age of fifteen, just like her father. Therefore, she has no plans to ever marry or have kids. Madison takes life easy and lives it to her fullest. She never holds a grudge either not even against Harriet, the office's militant feminist who seems to hate every single thing about Madison. Before she dies of a stroke within the very near future, Madison plans to find the perfect woman for her boss. ......................... Laurence loves Madison's perkiness and unpredictability. She is also an excellent secretary. His plans are to prove to Madison that she is the woman for him. But Harriet seems to be out for blood lately against everyone in the company, especially against Madison (and Zach, another co-worker). But does Harriet hate Madison enough to be the person who slashed Madison's tires, ruined all the clothes in her closet at home, or any of the other awful things that have occurred lately? ....................... ***** All throughout the story there resides a hint of danger. The longer I read, the worse danger seems to stalk Madison. Author Jennifer Skully has a rare talent of being able to weave suspense, drama, and a bit of comedy into her tales, while making her characters so lovable to me, that I never realize how attached to them I am becoming. I slowed my reading way down toward the end, as if that would somehow prolong the story. The author also shows why Harriet acts the way she does. I, as the reader, could actually understand Harriet's point-of-view, even if I did not agree with them. The secondary characters of Harriet and Zach are very believable. They give the novel an extra personal touch. An outstanding story teller that will have you hunting up her previous books. *****

    Excellent storytelling

In San Francisco Madison O¿Donnell has worked as secretary to tax consultant T. Laurence Hobbs at Carp, Alta & Hobbs, CPAs. Already a zany free spirit, Madison expects to die in two weeks so she looks for one passionate sexual encounter with the man she loves though no prospects are at hand. When she receives a wrong number, Madison agrees to meet the caller Richard for dinner over the objection of her prim and proper by the bottom line T. Laurence who worries for her safety.----- T. Laurence ponders whether he should become her lover as he has always admired what her short skirts reveal though he rationalizes that it is to keep her safe from a maniac. As he makes his pitch, the attraction that everyone else in the office has seen ignites into passion and love, but can a free spirit and her polar opposite forge a permanent relationship.---- This is a lighthearted office romance based on the premise opposites attract. The story line is amusing, but contains serious tomes on harassment, client fees, and office romances especially between a superior and his direct reporting employee. Though Madison ignores potential personal danger with strangers probably because she believes in her life¿s countdown, fans will enjoy this fine contemporary romance.----- Harriet Klausner
