My girls love this book. We are outdoorsy and this little circular story is beautifully written and illustrated, showing the cycles of nature and how they are all connected. My kids are still small, so they just love finding the animals and birds on every page and my 3 year old can now identify the bird species in the book! But over time they will be able to get more and more out of the details, with side-notes for older kids about the animals/plants portrayed. There is a funny and smart "glossary" at the end of the book for identifying the creatures, including indentifying "kids".
Gordon Morrison is probably the foremost naturalist in the country today, and is brilliant at educating children and fostering a love of nature in all ages through his gorgeous illustrations.
