From The CriticsReviewer: Kristen M. Quinn, PharmD (Jeanes Hospital)
Description: This is an all inclusive drug reference.
Purpose: The authors fully succeed in fulfilling their goal of providing a complete medication reference for healthcare professionals.
Audience: They have produced a great resource for all healthcare professionals. The book can be easily understood by all intended readers such as physicians, pharmacists, and nurses.
Features: The handbook covers medications in great detail, providing information of tremendous use. The details that I find most useful, and that makes this reference stand out from others, include adverse reactions listed by occurrence, overdosage and toxicology, and pharmacokinetics. If there was one thing I would add, it would be the references used to find the information.
Assessment: The book, however flimsy the cover, is filled with an enormous amount of pertinent information for those in healthcare. The 15th edition is up-to-date with newly approved medications.
