This is a printing of a drummer boy's diary by the writer about 30 years after the war. Apparently the only thing in the diary was weather and how far the regiment travelled. The is very little on the actions the regiment was in or the duties of a drummer boy. There are a few camp stories. One was about what happened when his tent mate kicked an artillery shell into the campfire. He also discussed 5 of the 15 ways to eat hardtack.
