Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
This guide tackles DSL issues well, but it is too jargon-laden to be useful to novices. Also, much of the content will be irrelevant to single-computer home users (for whom DSL for Dummies, although now somewhat dated, is a better choice). The recent meltdown of Excite@Home's broadband Internet service and the well-publicized woes of cable companies transferring customers to their own networks, however, should boost DSL, so public libraries in areas where the service is available can expect demand. Recommended with reservations. Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information.
