Overview

The "Seven Deadly Sins" lived for scandal and delighted in disgrace, but now they must repent—in marriage!

A sin he cannot forget

The Duke of Exeter knows it's time to find a bride, and he's determined to locate the passionate minx who enticed him in a pitch-black library. But how can you find someone you've never really seen? Then, while supervising his young ward's education, he is irresistibly attracted to her exquisite new teacher. He keeps wondering if they've met somewhere before, never suspecting she's the woman he's never forgotten after his one night of sin.

A wicked secret

As a beloved instructress at an exclusive school for young ladies, Lady Siusan Sinclair is a model of deportment. But no one knows her secret—that she fled London for Bath, her reputation on the verge of tatters, her fortune lost. Still, no matter how hard she tries, she can't forget the knee-weakening kiss of the man who led her astray . . .

The third in the Seven Deadly Sins series. I wanted to like this book. Over all it is decently written and the characters are interesting. However, the series of coincidences is so unlikely that it is hard to totally enjoy the book. I am willing to suspend disbelief for a good story, but even I can take so much. Only for fans of the series.

A slight let down. An ok read nothing more nothing less. Minimal character development, storyline ok.

This author has promise but this book was too short. You barely get to know the characters. Also, they fall in love after having sex in the library without even seeing each other?! Too ridiculous. i like romance novels but this needs more depth, story, and pages to make it a novel.

I am glad I read this book on a Saturday because I just could not put it down. The book is so much fun to read. I loved the characters. The Sinclair siblings' love and loyalty towards each other is amazing and sweet. To truly enjoy this book, I recommend that you read the first two books about Stirling Sinclair and Ivy Sinclair respectively. I wish the fourth book about Grant Sinclair will come out in 2011 and not 2012.

Sebastian Beaufort, The Duke of Exeter is trying to avoid obtaining a wife, making a grand entrance and survive his newly obtained title. Lady Siusan Sinclair is attempting to regain her father's favor, not commit any additional family sins which is difficult when you family has been labeled the Seven Deadly Sins and stay under any bachelor's radar. When Siusan and Sebastian have a clandestine meeting every good intention flyies out the window and they both are seeking additional sins that might not have been broken on the sofa, in the dark, without an exchange of names. Siusan does not want Sebastian to know who she is so fleeing to the far regions of England and becoming a teacher makes the most sense. But her idea of what to teach the young girls is much different than they are used to because she wants them to be educated and learn to run a household - very scandalous. Sebastian can't give up Siusan and seeks her out and when he finds her the pretense of games has to stop. She must admit who she is to him and confess the one sin she keeps committing - lying about her feelings for him. Yet Siusan has other ideas and pursing them will let her stay at the School of Virtues and further educate the girls as well as write a manual for all the other young women seeking knowledge of how to grow up and become respectable wives. Sebastian has other ideas and he keeps pushing them onto Siusan and yet she pulls back still trying to save her reputation and restore family honor. But rain, snow, distance nor carriage accidents can keep them apart and Sebastian will do but is honorable as well as desirable toward Siusan. Even when a voice screams that she has a reason to stop this relationship Sebastian has had the feel of Siusan body and soul are in his hands and he wants and needs her for life. But can the right decision be made and will Siusan choose her family or her lover? This series is riveting because the characters are so full of life and interact exactly as a family would. They stand beside one another through the bad times but never fail to blast you with the truth as they see it. Siusan is tender and thoughtful which offsets Sebastian's tough and commanding personality. They are a good combination and a wonderful story.

In 1816 London at aptly titled Blackwood Hall while England is dark even in daylight due to the ash on the air from a volcano eruption, Lady Siusan Sinclair enters the unlighted library while struggling with today's date; the anniversary of her fiancé's death. A stranger follows her in, takes her in his arms and holds her in a warm hug before they kiss. Both are stunned by the feelings each feels for the other though faceless in the dark. Although she never held a paying job before, Siusan obtains a teacher position in Bath. She likes most of her students, but especially has a place in her heart for Gemma. On the other hand she detests Gemma's guardian, the Duke of Exeter, who seems constantly at war with her. However, both know the loathing is a mask for the love they feel for feel for one another; as they felt it when they first met in the London library. The latest Seven Deadly Sins Regency romance (see The Most Wicked of Sins; envy and To Sin With A Stranger; avarice) is an enjoyable historical. Siusan, cut off from income by her angry father, diligently works to overcome "sloth"; while Exeter enjoys teasing the "sinner". While their gender war feel somewhat similar to that of her brother Sterling's romantic combat in To Sin With A Stranger, fans will enjoy the third sinner's tale. Harriet Klausner

This would have made a good short story. There was just barely enough storyline to make it through as a fairly short book.
