    Excellent Addition

This an absolute essential for an idealDungeons and Dragons playing experience. While it is still possible to play without it, your adventure or campaign will be 100% better if you have the fine tuned rules, fantastic magical items, prestige classes, and statistics that this book provides. The main reason I find so much use for it is that it provides so many rules; for turning around while flying, movement more that just on land, and more. It helps take away the nasty moments when a move is up to the DM's discretion. An absolute must buy.

    Great But Confusing

As a young dm its a little hard to uderstand but it comes in handy when your making mistakes. It also shows you ways to make the game more realistic and gives the players a sense of the fantasy world being real.

DM guide shoots slightly below expectations...

As a D&D player who is a crazy enthusiast, I was very disappointed with this DM's core rulebook. It covers the things that I had already said "Well, yeah, that's obvious" to, and only adds a few weapons, although it does have a healthy amount of artifacts and magical items. It also depends much too heavily on the fact that you have all the other core rulebooks. Monsters: 0. Added spells: 0 as well. If you're crazy enough about buying them all, do so, but for about sixty to eighty bucks total. Be careful, and consider just buying the game first, as it has a gealthy contingent of weapons, spells and monsters iself. Contact me at my email and let's play some D&D in a chat room sometime. Useful in its own way

It seemed the most useful thing in this book was the cover page of each chapter (along with the charts and tables). The first pages had all the information you needed if you were just starting out at DM'ing. Delving into each chapter, I found quite a bit of "extended" rules that I really didn't need 'cause I'm just starting. The first chapter is great if you're new. The rest of the book I guess would be good if you've been DM'ing for a while.

    Nice but NOT neccessary

While the new books offer a substantial increase in quality. from the cover and binding, to the art and illustration. the overall changes are not worth warranting the purchase. unless as I am you are a fanatic or a collector. the new structure of the system is not improved only given a different approach that is in no means any more efficient than the 2nd-2nd editions.

    This book is the book!

It was very good, very explanitory, and it's detailed, some parts you may not get but it still is a really good. So go make a dungeon. (Note: it's still not as good as the first dungeon masters guide but it's still okay.

    This should have been first

For those people out there who are thinking of playing D&D, this is the book to get you started. For those of you who have been playing for a while, this is the book to keep you playing. WOTC took quite a bit out of 2nd and left a lean version of core rules. So many people had become disillusioned with D&D over the past couple of years with all the different modifiers and convoluted rules, they left for almost anything else. WOTC 3rd edition core rules should excite people into playing D&D again.

Stunningly brilliant , yet excedingly simple

This book is the absolute must have for any person who has an interest in Dungeons and Dragons. The book has many essential charts and is simple yet explanitive something that the AD&D books lacked. It is a must have for anyone Dungeon Mastering and remarkably interesting for those who arn't. An excellent resource.

Dungeons and Dragons not the same game

In order to fully understand the impact of this title, you need to look at it as not dungeons and dragons as it has gone and changed the face so much and improved on the original and 2nd editions so much that it does not seem like Dungeons and Dragons at all. This is the book people expect to see with few errors and typos. The Players handbook is just the same way.
