Captain Tracy Keener is hand-picked to defend Special Ops officer Adam Burke, a man accused of leading his team onto an active bombing range during a war-readiness exercise that results in their deaths. Orders given are denied, the truth is buried, and chemical weapons are believed to be involved. Everyone believes Burke is guilty, even his lawyer, Keener, but it soon becomes apparent that far more is going on than can be explained. A conspiracy has occurred, but is it due to Burke or to Keener?

Allies and Enemies are hard to define in this Black Ops world where little is as it seems and everything and everyone appears deadly.

Military lawyer Capt. Tracy Keener is ordered to defend Adam Burke, who has been accused of treason, cowardice, and killing his own men. However, meeting Adam plants the seeds of doubt in her mind, and when he is apparently murdered, Tracy vows to find out what really happened. Her search for the truth puts her own life in danger. Written in the tradition of A Few Good Men, this highly suspenseful story of a solitary woman's fight against an evil military conspiracy is one readers won't want to
Romantic Times
“Military romantic suspense fiction has gained a blazing new star! Vicki Hinze continues to work her special magic, with the elements of romance, danger, and intrigue.”

“Hinze’s suspense-filled novel is one that will keep the reader turning pages and trying to guess the next moves in a complex and intriguing plot.”
–Raleigh News and Observer

“Hinze exploded on the scene with Shades of Gray and continues her meteoric rise with Duplicity. Finding a new niche in the romance genre takes rare courage and fortitude, but like Ms. Hinze’s heroines, she displays these admirable traits with the discovery of a category one can only call military romance. Clear an entire shelf for this author’s work, she doesn’t disappoint, making her a sure candidate for the bestseller’s list. Very Highly Recommended.
Booksquare.com
“The theme is so strong that as each piece of the puzzle is uncovered, another gap or connection is revealed, and the characters quite frequently find themselves uncertain as to which is the right path. Duplicity weaves throughout. The result is a story of suspense, cleverly drawn.”

Ms. Hinze delivers a spine tingling thriller mixed with a compelling romance. My teenager has the same thriller addiction as me, and I love that this book is suitable for sharing. The action is tense, but there's no swearing or bedroom scenes.
