I am in LOVE with this series. I started watching it early last

I am in LOVE with this series. I started watching it early last year, and I was ecstatic that it was finally being released in English here in the States. It can only be described as purely amazing and addicting, with very realistic aspects, yet still lying within the fantasy world that anime and manga is known for. Like the B&N description says, "this eccentric cast weaves a twisted, cracked love story...", and it does it quite well! There is no specific P.O.V., and not at all rushed, connecting characters together slowly yet surely, with every move and decision impacting all without them realizing as an invisible chain begins to link quite literally every character through acquaintanceship, hatred, love, loyalty, revenge, and every past and present emotion, feeling, and thought you can possibly imagine. And don't get me started on the plot-twists. You haven't the faintest IDEA of how good this series is with plot-twists, changing the plot-city of Ikebukuro so much that once you go through the series in its entirety, you won't even recognize it from the town it once was in its first appearance.

Sounds like the words of an extreme fan, but its true. It's pretty great, and I highly recommend it as a new series to start if anyone hasn't read or seen it yet. If you have, purchase the manga in further support, so we can get the light novels translated and published as well, for only THEN will you see exactly what I had mentioned above in its entirely.

    I Also Recommend:

A very fun and intriguing story with no specific main character

A very fun and intriguing story with no specific main character which I like since it's different than most. I have watched the anime and read up to chapter 14 online and since I am a fan, I am now buying the books since I love the artwork and story.

Great for anyone who wants something different to read and I might I say, Shizuo is my favorite (And so is Izaya despite him being evil). (:

And when I saw the picture of Shizuo and Izaya in color (Which I found a week later it folds out), I literally freaked out since I did not see it and those two are my favorite! :D

    Obsession.

I really like this series; for those that are fans of the anime, I definitely recommend this along with the light novels of the series. This is definitely for an open minded person looking for a thick plot; some of the concepts present in the storyline are controversial but it is presented in such a raw fashion it is captivating. The characterisation displayed (even in just the first volume) is very good. For those looking for a new series to read this is a very interesting one. I have read through the light novels and if the manga follows THAT plot (since the anime basically stops after book three) then I promise that the story becomes simply enthralling, one of the best plot lines I have read in years.

    Favorite series - must read!!

I have watched the whole anime series, and when I had heard that it was coming out as a manga in the U.S I was so happy. This is one of my new favorite series and I can't wait for the rest.
