Children's LiteratureThis is a story of what a child's imagination creates from the "dust bunnies" under the bed. It is told from the young child's perspective and goes from great descriptions of the bunnies' physical attributes to what they do. The mother discovers them and makes him sweep, dust and mop. But surprise!—the bunnies still grow. The simple vocabulary—at the series' Blue Level—presents new ideas using a larger vocabulary and varied sentence structure. The text is done in rhyme format that adds pizzazz to the simple story. It is great and should be used by parents and librarians as well as teachers. It also has bright, simple pictures. Like the other titles in the "Read It! Readers" series, it is a nice size for the young child to handle. These beautiful books for children just starting on the road to reading support both the acquisition of reading skills and the love of books. More "Read-it! Readers" are listed on the back cover, along with a reference to the Picture Window Books website address. 2006, Picture Window Books, Ages 3 to 5.
