Oh my gosh! You have most definitely got to try this book! It's amazingly written and this author knows what her readers like! Reading this book was like watching an incredible new movie. Better than watching a movie, in fact. Each page turn brings humor, passionate characters (and some characters that aren't so passionate, for sure!) and leaves the reader with a satisfaction beyond words. Five Books does not come close to doing this book justice. From werewolves to angels, Ryan knows what her readers want and just how to deliver it! I am highly anxious to read more of Dante's Circle books, especially Ambrose's story! Now that's another hawt angel for another review.......oh and did I mention I adore the cover on this book? (Why are you still sitting there? Go grab a copy now! :)

As an warrior angel Shade had many responsibilities. Keep the secret of the paranormal community and keep other angels from spilling that secret. When another angel messes up, Shade delivers punishment. He receives a summons from the council to fix a problem. A women has obtained a vile of dust. Not just any dust and not just any women. The women is a scientist, whose job it is to find out what it is and where it comes from. The problem is, it comes from Shades wings. He doesn't know how she has gotten the dust but he has to find out why and fix the problem. Lily Banner, a scientist is working as a technician in a lab, has just been given a vile of dust.. Her boss is a jerk has told her she has to figure out what it is. On her off time she plays board games in the park and hangs with her friends at Dante;s bar. One afternoon she meets someone. A man approaches her and sees her alone waiting for a friend in the park. They play a couple games and get to know each other. Shade knows that he must be careful and find out what she knows and destroy the sample, but is drawn to this women like no other. Lily is extremely attracted to Shade and decides a date may be fun. So they meet at Dante's Bar where Lily's friends can also meet Shade. As they women are waiting and drinking together, lightening strikes the bar. No one is hurt just banged up and bruised. Lily soon realised something has changed. Something in her is different. Shade and best friend Ambrose show up to the bar and know something happened. Shade and Lily, becoming closer as time goes on and Shade soon realises Lily is more than just human. How can that be because she was just a human when they met? As Shade and Ambrose try to figure out how Lily has been changed, how the dust got into Lily's hands, and try to keep her is the dark to keep her safe because Shade is falling in love. Lilly is trying to figure out what the dust is, getting sick because something happened when the lightening hit, and falling in love. With all this going on they soon realise someone in the council or high in the ranks of the angels is a traitor and is setting up Lilly to be killed. Who would want her killed and why? This a 1st book in the Dante's circle series by Carrie Ann Ryan. In this story Shade and Lily are so drawn towards each other and there is so much working against them. The lightening strike was very cool and unexpected. it changes Lily and the other women. It starts and explains what and who are in the books to come. The story was very well written and has action galore. The love story is touching and you are really rooting for the two to get together. A great start to a new series. I am really looking forward to see what is in store for Ambrose. Awesome start to what will be a great series.

This is the 1st of the Dante's Circle books and I will confess, I wanted to cry when it was over and I realized I had to wait for the next book. Shade is an angel and Lily is a scientist. This book has some twists and turns and not all is as it seems. I would highly recommend this book along with anything else that Carrie Ann Ryan has written. She's in my top 5 of favorite authors and really writes good stuff. Now I'm just counting down the time until book 2 is out and of course I will reread Shade and Lily's story before I read the next one. I'd definitely set time aside to just sit, relax and read.

When a Lily, a lab tech and a human poses a threat to that secret, the angel warrior Shade is dispatched to make sure she can't go through with her job. But Shade falls in love with her. Their happiness is short-lived when a traitor amongst the angels threatens the peace but also targets Lily. However, Lily has a secret of her own.
This was my first book by Ms Ryan, and I found many aspects of it very enjoyable. The plot may not have been anything new, but it was definitely engaging, and all the different characters pulled me in and made me care for them. Strangely enough, I found myself liking the secondary characters, Faith and Ambrose, more than the main characters. Not that Shade wasn't a great hero, but I loved the mysterious leader of the warrior angels.
Shade and Lily definitely had chemistry, and the plot made the pacing of their attraction believable, as did their unique connection. The love scenes were hot, especially my particular favorite - up in the air. I am just not a fan of heroines who are very insecure, or who get melodramatic that they inadvertently put themselves in grave danger. When she finds out the truth about Shade's reason for being on earth in the first place, she quickly draws the right conclusion, but allows her anger to overrule logic. I did like the fact that she was destined to be different, but I still giggle over the name of her particular species. There were a few grammar mistakes, but overall the story was engaging and made for a fun read. I look forward to the next book and Ambrose's story.

I received a copy of this book for review and could not put it down. I was hooked from the very first page. With so many secondary characters, you usually have the issue of characters not being fully developed. That was not the case here. Even the secondary characters are awesome. Definitely worth the read. And I'll most assuredly be following not just this series, but this author as well.

This is the first book in the Dante's Circle series. Carrie Ann Ryan has this unique way of taking the ordinary, twisting and turning it, and coming up with something completely different. I loved this book! The story line was strong and the pieces flowed together at just the right pace. Shade and Lily fit together perfectly. Other characters, that are to be in future books, were introduced very well. I can't wait to read the next installment in this series! Carrie Ann Ryan, you have another satisfied reader :)

I am so mad at myself. I had this book sitting on my Kindle since the beginning of September and just read it now. I am a huge fan of Carrie Ann Ryan and this book did not disappoint. Here are some of the things I loved about it:
*The whole concept of a circle of girlfriends who are all completely different but somehow are this amazing circle of friends is wonderful. I wish I had one. So often you read books and the heroine is all alone or has one or two good buddies. This opened up a whole new dimensionality to the characters (yes, I make up words).
*The premise is stinkin' awesome Seriously! I have absolutely no idea what will happen next.
*Lily is a science geek with a bit of OCD. She is not they typical heroine. I so love it when stories embrace the geek. Actually, she was not that geeky, but it still tickled my inner nerd. Ok, my outer nerd ;).
*This was a hot, fun, and at times funny adventure as Lily discovers who she has become and who the mysterious stranger of her dreams is.
I can not wait until the next book in this series comes out! I saw it posted somewhere that book 4 will feature the dragon shifter. You can only guess who will be first in line for that puppy. If you love your paranormal with a bit of heat, check out this series. It has something in it for every para fan. This book is definitely not for the under 18 crowd.
This is the first book I have read that has any type of Angel in it. I can honestly say “I love these angels”.
Who would have thought that a little angel dust could cause so much trouble? Who would have thought that angel dust was even real?
Want get lost in a great book? Dust of my Wings will take you to new places.

When I think about paranormal I think vampires, shifters, witches.....not so much angels cause thats never been my thing. Carrie Ann Ryan has changed that. I loved this book and can't wait for the next. Characters are great, with a great group of girl friends I could easily rename after some of my own. Give this series and Author a try..

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.Dust of My Wings is an exciting read that presents angels in a whole new light (and there's not a harp to be seen) and holds great promise for future installments because of a sexy cast and intriguing genetic ramifications. From start to finish this book was full of surprises and likable characters that kept me turning the pages for more.
Lily Banner started out as a quiet lab tech with OCD whose only fun was spending time with her friends at the bar, Dante's Circle. Her life soon turns upside down when she's given a strange blue dust to analyze and her and her friends are struck by lightning. She's soon feeling like a different woman, one who's addicted to milk and warrior angel Shade. Her evolution, and her reactions to events, is very realistic and made her all the more likable for her calm acceptance. When needed she also became a formidable fighter as those who are threatened by her changes, and those of her friends, came after her. For a person who had no family before, recent events have introduced her to a whole new family who accept her as she is and start to teach her about herself.
Shade too has felt alone after the murder of his sister and his mate. Until meeting Lily he kept his heart hidden. The attraction between them though is instant and intense and his protective instincts have his heart at war with his mission. As truths start coming out he and his best friend Ambrose discover a traitor in their ranks which creates suspenseful moments and a few action-packed sequences. Throughout it all Shade is the quintessential hero. He's sexy, supportive, and understanding of her quirks. Their sexual interludes are steamy and he definitely caters to her. As I said, he's the perfect hero.
There are many secondary characters that added excitement to this story and have me excited for future books in this series. The most exciting of which is Ambrose, whose mate (Shade's sister) and family were murdered. His heart's been closed off since, but he's now showing flashes of caring towards one of Lily's friends and I can't wait to see where things lead. Lily's friends are a formidable bunch, protective of each other, and the changes about to befall them create an exciting premise for future installments. Lastly is the sexy owner of the bar, Dante, who's not what he appears to be. There's much mystery surrounding him and I look forward to his secrets being revealed. You too will find yourself enamored of him.
This book was an exciting read that left me immensely satisfied. It had the perfect balance between action and romance with a nice bit of suspense and political intrigue thrown in. Fans of the paranormal will find much to like in this book and they'll want to continue the journey in the future with Ms. Ryan's romantically charged series.

Shade may be an angel, but only by physical definition – you know, the wings and all – but he doesn’t live in Heaven, and he definitely doesn’t behave like an “angel”. He’s got his own past to overcome from the Angelic Wars, and it makes for a somewhat tortured hero, though not as much as Ambrose; I’m looking forward to his story! Lily is a quirky heroine, making her pretty unique. For being a big bad warrior, Lily certainly seems to bring out the softer side of Shade.
The villain was your typical power-hungry maniac thinking he can take over and reign supreme if only he can remove two warrior obstacles. He sometimes reminded me of a cartoon baddie up to dastardly deeds. I often half expected him to do the “muahahaha” laugh. Goofy, I know.
The conflict, while believable, just felt a little on the weak side. I won’t complain though as it made for a fairly light-hearted read (not counting when Shade talks about what he and Ambrose lost in during the Angelic Wars, I about cried there). The best part about this book is actually the supernatural element. The concept of there being so many different types of creatures and the underlying promise that we’ll get to meet many more of them, makes for a fun, interesting story.
Overall, the romance was sweet and sensual, the ending was satisfying on several levels, and it leaves you waiting happily for more to come. Dust of My Wings is a good start to a new series from Carrie Ann Ryan, and I look forward to more!

What a great beginning to another series by Carrie Ann Ryan. As a fan of her Redwood Pack, I was eager to read about her new venture into another paranormal realm.
Shade is an Angel, a warrior angel who protects the supernatural world’s secret. He has a small problem, however, he keeps leaving dust which has fallen into the hands of Lily, a lab tech. He has to retrieve it before his secret is uncovered.
Shade didn't expect to be so attracted to her, just as Lily can't help what she feels towards this tall, dark and handsome stranger. When Lily and her friends have an up-close call with Mother Nature, she may not be quite as normal as she thought.
I loved Lily and her OCD (we find out later why she has those tendencies). Love that Shade finds that endearing. They have great chemistry and their passion sure has some interesting side-effects. Just remember these aren't your typical angels, wait until you read about these kick-ass sexy angels.
We met a great supporting cast of characters that I'm sure we will get to hear about later and who knows what other paranormal entities we will meet...and I can't wait!

Dust of My Wings, the first novel in the Dante's Circle series, brings together the world of the supernatural and that of humans. Shade, a warrior angel, with a broken past, is sent by the angel council to earth to stop a human woman from uncovering the secret of the supernatural world. Lily, a lab tech with only a close group of friends to call "family", has been tasked with analyzing an odd substance, when her world is suddenly thrown into turmoil. As the story unfolds, strange events occur, betrayal, murder, heartbreak and intrigue abound. Will love conquer all? Is Lily truly just human? Will Shade stop the humans from discovering that there is magic all around them?
Carrie Ann Ryan has woven a tale of the supernatural that is spellbinding and one that I could not put down! Fabulous beginning to this series. I cannot wait for more.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were interesting & the steamy scenes were hot hot hot. It was funny, too. Shade is hot! I really look foward to Ambrose's book. Want it now!
