A funny, thoughtful, exciting story that works on two levels at once--there's the obvious level of the planned crime and what is going to happen to the main characters (it was very amusing to have Elmore Leonard in the story as a character), and the self-reflective level about crime fiction. ... I was delighted to find that this book works on a several levels simultaneously. It's a very entertaining, quick read and yet even though I finished it a while ago, there are sections of the book and parts of the dialogue that are still lingering in my mind ... The great thing about this story though, is that the tale itself is just plain good--well written with a terrific pace and climax--so that the wink at the writing style of Leonard is just a wonderful cherry on top.
