Overview

James Bernard Jr., a.k.a. Dutch, has become the most dangerous criminal in New Jersey. From his early skill as a car thief, Dutch recognized the opportunity to rule the streets and he seized it. Feared by all, and completely fearless, Dutch and his dangerous clique take over the lucrative heroin business of a local African drug lord. With both the protection and respect of the Mafia, Dutch becomes the most terrifying force on the streets. District Attorney Anthony Jacobs is determined to take down Dutch and his crew, and he's confident that his witnesses will testify against them. But a sudden turn of events will soon make the DA's job harder than he imagined.

Don't get me wrong all of the books I list are excellent, but damn if she didn't go there, FO REAL there, on this one. I take my hat off to Teri for coming this hard and this real. Keep ya game up Boo. NOW THAT'S GANGSTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    trivial and not very good

I read the previous reviews and bought the book. While I suppose it is authentic, the jive/street lingo, the sex, and the lack of plot caused me to stop reading about ? into the book. I am no prude, incidentally.

Dutch - an engrossing, fast-paced mafia novel!

Bernard James, Jr., a.k.a. Dutch, grew to become the most dangerous criminal in New Jersey. Street smart and ruthless, Dutch was gifted at reading people. With careful positioning and luck, Dutch was able to win the attention and respect of Italian mobsters. Planning, luck, and guts help Dutch move up from teenage carjacker to drug lord. With the help of criminal bosses and Dutch's past associates, District Attorney Anthony Jacobs is intent on taking Dutch down. As the action unfolds and blood flows, how will it end?

Dutch is a fast-paced and carefully crafted thriller. Each of the main characters are well fleshed out. Unwilling to accept traditional rules and authority figures, Dutch and his friends develop their own code of honor. Despite his ruthless and criminal acts, I found it easy to understand and sympathize with Dutch's choices. Overall, Dutch was a fast and engrossing read. I'd highly recommend it to persons who enjoy action and mafia-type novels.

    warm hearted killer

Benard aldo known as Dutch killed to defend others or for personal reasons. Would you think that somebody that grew up in the streets would have no feelings or regrets about what you done. Everybody loves the bad guy, especially for people that love the movie "Scarface", Dutch has manysimilarites, and differences. For a quick but fun read to see how Dutch becomes a warm-hearted killer this is the book for you. It reminds me of the movie "State Property".

    The First Of A Trilogy

Bernard James Jr. known as Dutch in the streets, is on trial for the numerous murders that has been happening in Newark, New Jersey called the 'The Month of Murders'. The story goes back and forth from the present to the past of how Dutch at a young age of 14 begin his life of crime. Very smart and gifted young fellow with a lot of knowledge felt school was not a choice. Being well known in the streets was his claim to fame. After being locked up for car theft, Dutch was release much smarter and a force to be reckon with. Going back to being a stick up kid and stealing a cars was not an option anymore. With his affiliation with the mob and his crew, Angel, Craze, Qwan, Roc, and Zoom they were destined to take over the streets of Newark. Going after the the notorious Nigerian drug king Ojiugo Kamazi and his henchmen, was like taking candy from a baby. Nonetheless Dutch kept it gangsta. Will Dutch serve a prison sentence? Or will there be loop holes in the testimonies that were presented in court and he gets away scott free. You will have to read the book to have these questions answered. Dutch: The First of a Trilogy 'Dutch Trilogy' is a very fast paced made for TV mob story. I enjoyed this story and it did keep me reading to the very end, even though I came across some grammatical errors throughout my reading. All in all it was pretty good. I thought Dutch was just a cigar

Dutch is a book that was recommended to me by numerous young men. I knew I must read it because it had them actually reading. When I read it I understood exactly why they enjoyed it so much. I will like to personally thank, Kwame Teague for writing a book that can be related to a lot of people who are growing up in a life of illegal activity.
