Duty Honor Courage
1996 San Diego California.

Twenty-two year old Danica Simmons thinks she knows how to handle the world and the people around her. Through several failed relationships Danica has developed a protective shell of distrust. And now because of her last relationship, Danica has become afraid-of the men that constantly pursue her and that there is something within her that makes it impossible for someone to truly love her.
Sgt Andrew Taylor is a stern Drill Instructor during work but when not on duty he is a lonely man that leads a mostly solitary life. The six foot two inch, Marine has a chance encounter with ebony skinned Danica. It doesnt initially go well but Sgt. Taylor is not thwarted.
Danica notices the tall man with the most striking blue eyes that shes ever seen. But a relationshipespecially one with a white man is not something she wants to tackle.
In 1996, fresh from the Los Angeles riots and the Rodney King police beating, San Diego is still filled with hostility and distrust between whites and blacks. Sgt Taylor has never been involved with a black woman, but he has fought some tough battles. However, love can be one of the toughest. Warning: Adult content. Graphic sexual situations and language.
